This adorable little Shih Tzu mix may only weigh around 8 pounds, but his personality is absolutely larger than life. Around 2 years old, Pepe is equal parts sass, charm, and attitude. Honestly… his pictures already tell you everything you need to know. 😌

Pepe is currently being treated for a skin condition that caused some hair loss, but he’s already on the mend and feeling more fabulous by the day.

Just when we catch our breath, another roadblock hits… 💔

Parvo.

Ty’s foster noticed very quickly that he wasn’t acting like himself and immediately reached out. We met up late last night to be safe, and unfortunately our fears were confirmed—Ty tested positive for Parvo.

The good news is that because his foster acted so quickly, Ty is already at the vet receiving supportive care and has the best chance possible at beating this awful virus. 🐾

What we weren’t prepared for was another unexpected emergency vet bill. As a foster-based rescue, situations like this can quickly drain our resources.

We survived the weekend and last few days —and thanks to several wonderful adopters, a number of deserving dogs found their forever homes! ❤️

With some space opening up, we’re considering a soft reopening of intake. The key word is considering. We can only say yes to more dogs if we have committed fosters or adopters ready to step up. If not, we will remain closed until after the July 4th holiday.

The dogs pictured are currently in an overcrowded rural shelter. Much of the facility is outdoors, resources are stretched thin, and difficult decisions are made regularly due to lack of space. This is truly a life-saving plea.

If you can commit to fostering or adopting, you can make the difference between life and death for one of these dogs. And yes—even puppies are at risk. Shelters are overwhelmed, illness spreads quickly in crowded conditions, and every kennel matters.

If you’ve been thinking about fostering or adopting, now is the time. Help us save a life. 🐾
