✨ Meet Skye – Ready for Her Forever Home! ✨

Skye is a 7-year-old Maltipoo mix who is searching for a loving family and a place to finally call home. ❤️

This sweet girl has been through more than her fair share of challenges. Skye has struggled with skin issues for most of her life, and when she was brought into one of our partner veterinary clinics, her owners felt they could no longer care for her and were considering euthanasia.

Thankfully, Skye’s story didn’t end there.

We were able to welcome Skye into our rescue, get her on consistent medication, and provide the care she deserved. The transformation has been incredible! Her skin has improved tremendously, her beautiful hair is growing back all over, and she’s looking better every day. Most importantly, she’s feeling so much better and enjoying life again. 🐾

Skye is a sweet, loving girl who has proven just how resilient she is. Now that she’s healthy and thriving, all she needs is a forever family to love her for the rest of her days.

Yesterday was a BIG vet day at Barking Wishes, and while we’re incredibly grateful these seniors are getting the care they deserve, the medical bills are adding up fast. We could really use your help.
A huge thank you to the amazing veterinary staff at Crossroads Animal Hospital for taking such wonderful care of all 6 dogs at once:
🐕💙 Sasha was treated for a skin infection, allergies, and received a dental evaluation.
🐕💙 Milly underwent a dental procedure, had 15 teeth removed, and painful fistulas in her mouth repaired.
🐕💙 Meme was spayed and received a dental cleaning.
🐕💙 Beauty had a very large mass removed from her stomach. Thankfully, it was NOT cancerous!
🐕💙 Bella was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. She had X-rays and was started on several medications to keep her comfortable. Bella is also in need of a loving hospice foster home.
🐕💙 Kingston received updated bloodwork, was neutered, and had a skin assessment.
And just last week, Bubba’s extensive diagnostics helped us better understand his medical needs.
🐕💙 Bubba had a full assessment, X-rays, bloodwork, and started medications.

This is why senior rescue matters. Many of these dogs would never receive the medical care they desperately need without your support. Every dental, surgery, blood test, medication, and exam gives them a chance at comfort, healing, and the loving future they deserve.

💕 Meet Sassy – Now Available for Adoption! 💕

Sassy is a 5-year-old sweetheart who weighs about 20 pounds. While she’s carrying a few extra pounds and could benefit from a healthier lifestyle, she’s already on the right track!

Before coming into our care, much of Sassy’s diet consisted of Little Debbie cakes, so we’re helping her learn that nutritious food can be just as enjoyable. 🍎🐾

Despite her unusual past, Sassy hasn’t let it dull her sparkle. She is loving, energetic, and always ready to make new friends. Sassy gets along great with everyone she meets and brings joy wherever she goes.

If you’re looking for a fun, affectionate companion who will happily join you on walks and cuddle up afterward, Sassy may be the perfect fit!

🎩🐾 Excuse me, have you seen my family? 🐾🎩

Hi, I’m Jace — an 8-year-old, 12-pound Norfolk Terrier with a heart full of love and a serious talent for making people smile.

When my owner’s circumstances changed, I found myself at the shelter. I’ll admit it… I was pretty worried and confused there. But once I arrived at Barking Wishes, my true personality started shining brighter than a freshly polished food bowl. ✨

Now? I’m a happy little guy who loves people, adores kids, and gets along great with other dogs. Basically, I’m everyone’s favorite tiny sidekick. 🦸‍♂️🐾

I’m fully vetted, neutered, heartworm negative, and officially accepting applications for my forever position as:

Buddy has a deadline of tomorrow morning to be rescued. He is at the LASPCA in New Orleans
We are desperate to find someone would could transport him to Baton Rouge tomorrow so that he will not be euthanized.
Buddy is 9 years old and weighs 22lbs

They will be looking for a special home looking to welcome to sweet angels into their home. 💙🐶🐾
Meme is a long haired Yorkie who weighs 5lbs, Milly is a poodle mix who weighs 10lbs
These gals unfortunately lost their owner and were passed along to a family member who was unable to care for them properly.
They are very bonded and will need a home together 👯‍♀️
Both girls are scheduled for grooming, spay, dentals, and other vetting next week and then they’ll be ready for a forever home!
