An educational farm school located on the corner of Federal Rd and Middle Hwy in Barrington RI. The 120-year-old farmland located between Lincoln Avenue and Federal Road at Middle Highway is the last farm remaining in Barrington, Rhode Island. We are raising funds to protecting and conserve the farm for future generations link to agriculture and sharing food. The Barrington Farm School has been operating for several years on this property, outreaching to students, families, teachers and all levels of the community. We continue to need community support for growing, supplies, farm stand, structures, and woodland habitat to reach students and community members of all ages. The open space has beekeeping, fresh food tastings, student environmental groups, teachers, artists, nature studies and conservation practices.

The Environmental Club from BHS heard about our recent Microscopy workshop and decided to bring their whole group to the farm for a special repeat program! These high schoolers were able to look into the microscopes with Karen and Kelvin to view all of the activity inside of our living compost. What a treat! (And what a beautiful day at the farm!).

Christie led us in an educational, inspiring, and captivating Clip & Sip on herbs! We learned all about how to preserve and use herbs for making bouquets, teas, and for cooking. Everyone went home with herb bundles to use in their own kitchens. What a fun edible bouquet making event!

Thank you to all of our Clip & Sip participants this year. And thank you to Jill for drying and making so many delicious herbal teas for us to sip! This is one of our favorite seasons at the farm and we are so grateful for each flower clipped that brought us color and joy!

Ted of Ted (Owner/ Operator) came to BFS last week to help us with thinning out the trees near the seedhouse. His care in preserving the tree while keeping our plastic houses safe is invaluable to BFS, and he did an amazing job for us (and just in time for last weekend’s windy weather!). Ted outdid himself with his generosity and did more than expected; we are so grateful for his expertise! He even offered to help in reskinning the greenhouse (wow!). Check him out here if you’re in need of some arbor care! Ted (Owner/ Operator)

What a joy it is to gather friends in the flower fields to make bouquets together and to enjoy the beauty of the land! Our “clip and sips” are just that, and we even get to enjoy herbal iced teas from herbs grown right here on the farm!
