In Texas, pollen, grasses, mold, and other environmental allergens can cause significant allergy symptoms in both dogs and cats. Many pet owners notice their pets becoming itchier during certain times of the year, but allergies can occur year-round as well.
Common signs of allergies in pets may include:

🐾 Licking or chewing at the paws
👂 Recurring ear infections or head shaking

From routine wellness visits to life-saving procedures, she pours her heart into helping pets live happier, healthier lives.

Not only is she an amazing veterinarian and leader, but she’s also a mentor, friend, and inspiration to so many of us. We are incredibly grateful for her vision, compassion, and the positive impact she has on everyone who walks through our doors.

We think one of our patients may have been trying to apply for a job at the front desk this week! 😄🐶

While they were excellent at greeting clients, accepting treats, and making everyone smile, their phone-answering skills still need a little work. 📞

Even though they didn’t quite qualify as a Customer Service Representative, they definitely earned a spot in this week’s Pets of the Week feature! 💙

Please join us in recognizing Lauren, one of our wonderful Customer Service Representatives! Lauren has been part of the Honnas Veterinary family since shortly after we opened, and we are so grateful for the positivity and energy she brings to our clinic every day 💙🐾
Fun fact: Lauren and our clinic actually share a birthday! 🎉

When asked what she enjoys most about working in veterinary medicine, Lauren shared, “Explaining how the medications work with their particular pet.” She truly enjoys helping clients better understand their pets’ care and making them feel informed and supported.

Lauren also has some impressive achievements outside of the clinic. She is proud of getting into Texas A&M, traveling to different state parks, and competing in ballroom dancing—where she placed in the top 3 💃✨
If Lauren were an animal, she said she would be a dodo bird because they are resilient and approachable 😄

Lauren describes her strengths as being bubbly, personable, and friendly—and anyone who has met her would definitely agree! Outside of work, she enjoys baking, being outdoors, attending concerts, and volunteering her time whenever possible.
We are so thankful to have Lauren on our team and appreciate the kindness and positivity she shares with both our clients and coworkers every day 💕🐶🐱
