FAAS’s mission is to shelter and care for abandoned companion animals, find them new homes, and prevent animal cruelty through education and outreach. Through a unique public-private partnership, FAAS has managed the open-intake City of Alameda Animal Shelter since 2012. With innovative programs, community partnerships, and a passionate base of volunteers and donors, each year FAAS saves on averag

FAAS Alumni Update: Loki 😼

Loki, previously Edward, is doing great and has already made himself right at home💚

Here's what his human said: "He has brought so much happiness and love to our household, and we are absolutely in love with him!

He keeps us laughing every day with his zoomies and endless curiosity. He’s also already seen the vet and got a clean bill of health!

Eclipse is our favorite three-legged pancake here at FAAS🥞

Being a tripod can be tiring sometimes (understandably!), so Eclipse has mastered the art of taking a little mid-walk break to go full pancake mode in the grass🌱🧘

FAAS Alumni Update: Casper 👻

Ziggy, now Casper, is settling into his new home and showing off his playful, curious personality. His new sibling Sage, who was also adopted from FAAS in 2022, took a little time to warm up to him, but now they are playing nonstop 😻

We love seeing our FAAS cats find their forever homes and new friends 🥰
