We're doing our best to stay cool during this heat wave!🥵 Our pups are enjoying extra shade, cool water, frozen treats, and plenty of indoor naps while temperatures soar😪

As the weather heats up, here are 5 ways you can help keep your own dogs safe and comfortable:

💧 Keep fresh water available at all times
🌅 Walk early in the morning or later in the evening
🌳 Provide plenty of shade and cool places to rest
🐾 Check pavement temperatures before heading out - if it's too hot for your hand, it's too hot for their paws
🚗 Never leave your dog in a parked car, even for a few minutes

Stay safe, stay cool, and give your furry friends an extra frozen treat from us!🩵

Applejack is a sweet young shepherd mix with a bright, happy energy and a big heart. She loves people and is always excited to be part of whatever is going on🤗

She gets along well with other dogs and enjoys being social, whether that’s going on walks with a buddy or hanging out nearby. Applejack is playful and loves toys & games, but she also has a soft side and enjoys cuddles and kisses once she knows you💘

Smart, eager, and full of potential, Applejack is ready for a family who will enjoy training, adventures, and everyday life together. Come meet Applejack Wednesday-Sunday!🐾

A behind-the-scenes look at one of our daily enrichment activities👀

Enrichment is an important part of life at the shelter, which is why we rotate different activities each day to keep our dogs mentally engaged, build confidence, encourage natural behaviors, and help reduce stress😪

Today's activity: treat bags filled with goodies for sniffing, exploring, and problem-solving🧐 Watching each dog investigate and enjoy their enrichment in their own unique way is always a highlight of our day

These small moments make a big difference while our pups wait for their forever homes🫶
