Well they say that we have to face our fears to overcome them.
And since my animals don’t understand what happened yesterday and need their grass anyway, here I am again, with a huge trauma, with the stings from yesterday swelling and itching but we need the grass
There is no way around that fact.

That looks so beautiful and peaceful, right?
And it was until it wasn’t
We jus accidentally hit a beehive, cutting grass for the horses, donkey & Co.
I was stung around 30-40 times and Amado probably the double.
He had a stronger reaction and had to be attended by Military Doctor and staff, I got a histamine shot also.
We are good
But it was like in a horror movie.
I ran for my life to the entrance screaming Help, until military guys came and guided us to the infirmary.
I am still finding stingers on my head, face and arms
Ouch, that was horrible
And the worst
We couldn’t get the grass we already cut and raked it’s all there
Now I have to buy hay bales.
What a day 😱😱😱

Found out they are actually the Africanized bees, which explains their aggressiveness and their stamina to follow us for such a long distance.
Happy to be alive and able to tell that story.

Life with rescued little souls.
Yuko had to go through a surgery today.
She developed a tumor in one of her mammary glands, which had to be removed and will be checked by the pathologist to confirm what we probably already know.
But she was previously checked by our wonderful vet Edith Ochoa at Amevets, we did X-rays and bloodwork and it seem that there has nothing spread into organs or blood.
So please keep your fingers crossed that all will be ok
For now I have to make sure that she won’t go into the pool, although she is wearing a bathing suit, bc the medical body she got from the vet got wet, of course bc the first thing she did arriving home was jumping in the pool. 😶
And convince her that she can sleep inside the house with us and the AC.
In her first home she was not allowed to get into the house and I have not yet be able to convince her that it is pretty cool (literally) in here.
So, she sits at the door and begs to be let out.
Not tonight girl. You have to stay inside for now.

Cutest, sweetest and funniest thing happened today. Have had chickens for quite a while now, about 10 years I would guess. Never ever have I had this experience before.
I was finishing feeding the cats and just put the feed away when suddenly I had a little kikiriki hen landing on my head😳.
I was so surprised and just stood there thinking who could that be. She just stayed there on my head. Then I thought that there was one I had seen lately very puffy (a sign that she might be broody and sitting on eggs) so I touched her on my head and got her into my arms where she stayed very comfortably and like she has never done anything different. My chickens are not cuddly usually they are free spirits and are doing their thing. Well this little one let’s call her Alicia, she just cuddled into my arm and looked at me. So I grabbed the cat kibble and offered it to her and she literally devoured a handful of it still in my arms, eating out of my hand. Until she was looking satisfied I put her back on soil.
After that she walked straight into her den, where I found her nest. I was looking for it over the last week bc I knew it must be somewhere.
I just love my everyday little adventures with nonhuman creatures who share so much with us if we allow them to do so.
