🎃 HELLS HORSEMEN RIDE 👻

We are very low on confirmed numbers this year due folks attending other Halloween events BUT we will still have some of our own horses riding in costume through the village.

We plan to still stop by the train station at 11am if anyone still wants to meet us there and join last minute! 🐴 👻 🎃 please let us know!

Calling all village horse riders, horse owners & horse lovers! 🐴🖤

Join us for our Annual Hells Horsemen Ride — a fun, spooky dress-up ride through West Kilbride village to celebrate Halloween in true equestrian style! 🎃💀

Come along, meet the horses, get dressed up and join us for a walk through the streets of the village.

📍 MEETING POINT: West Kilbride Train Station 🚂
⏰ RIDE SETS OFF: 11:00am
📸 Please arrive before 11am for photo opportunities!

🧙‍♀️ THE RULES 🧙‍♂️

🎃 Any dress-up theme is welcome, but costumes must be child friendly.

🐴 Under 16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and anyone riding must wear a riding hat.

🛡️ To take part, you must have:
• Equine public liability insurance
• Good road-riding knowledge
• A sensible horse that is safe around traffic and crowds

🚗 Parking: Limited parking is available at Yonderton Farm, Ardrossan High Road. Please message us in advance if you require parking. Otherwise, please park wherever it is safe and appropriate within the village.

💩 CLEAN-UP NOTICE: Whom it may concern — all horse p**p will be cleaned up from the route upon completion of the ride. 🧹🐴

DEAR NEIGHBOURS, PLEASE REMEMBER OUR HORSES 🔥💥

🔺 sadly again this year we have got to deal with an unlicensed display taking place in Simson avenue close to our fields. This is funded by residents in the street but the organisers refuse to purchase silent fireworks🔺

❗️Your fun could be their serious injury. 🆘

Though we try our best to keep horses calm & secure during what is considered one of the most stressful times of the year as a horse owner - accidents can still happen wether they are in fields or stables.

Did you know as per Animal Welfare Act 2006 it is a illegal to set of fireworks near livestock, fields with livestock & buildings with livestock. Fines for breaching this are up to £20,000 & up to 6 months in prison.

It’s not just bonfire night…it’s the build up between now & new years - you may think you are far away but the loud noise is the problem! Your fun is their stress.

Passing Horses Over 10mph Triggers Careless Driving Fines 🐴😱

Country lanes are shared spaces, but too many drivers treat rural roads like racetracks. 🐎 Under strict Highway Code Rule 215 guidelines, motorists are legally required to slow down to a maximum of 10mph and leave at least 2 metres of clearance when passing horses and riders. With equestrian groups ramping up helmet-cam footage submissions to police under Operation Snap, rushing past skittish horses at speed is triggering immediate careless driving prosecutions, three penalty points, and hefty court fines. 🛑 If a horse rider raises their hand to signal you to slow down or stop, giving them wide berth isn't just polite—it's the law.

🥕 BLOCK OF 2 STABLES ONLY (exc paddock) - £30 per stable per week.
Minimum 2 horses, open to friends sharing or an owner with 2 horses.
