Larches Farm, Thornbury, BS35 3TT I help dog owners feel calm, confident, and emotionally safe when their dog interacts with other dogs. Most owners were never taught how to read dog play — which is why it can feel confusing, overwhelming, or embarrassing. I offer simple, gentle guidance that helps you understand

what’s normal, what’s too much, and how to support your dog with confidence. Just clarity, reassurance, and a calmer experience for both you and your dog.

Wrestling With Lots of Noise

Two dogs rolling around, growling loudly…
and every owner holds their breath.

Noise makes people think something is wrong.

But when bodies stay loose, wiggly, and soft — this is healthy, emotional play.

Once you know what to look for, noisy play stops being scary and starts being joyful.

There’s a whole section on this inside the ebook — with examples of what’s healthy vs what’s too much.

If noisy play makes you nervous, the ebook will help everything click.

The Over‑Enthusiastic Chaser vs The Unsure Dog

You know that moment when one dog barrels in with full excitement… and the other freezes, looks away, or tries to move off?
Owners panic, thinking it’s “bad behaviour.”

This isn’t misbehaviour.
It’s a mismatch in emotional pace.

One dog is saying, “This is fun!”
The other is saying, “This is too much for me.”

When you understand this, you stop feeling embarrassed or unsure — and you start supporting both dogs calmly.

This is exactly the kind of moment I break down inside a Play Consult — so you can understand what’s happening in your videos, or in writing.

If this feels familiar, a consult will give you the clarity you’ve been craving.

So many Spaniels play with big feelings — the noise, the speed, the excitement, the sudden pauses — and it can leave you wondering:
“Is this normal… or is this too much?”

I’ve created a gentle £7 Spaniel Decoder to help you understand your Spaniel’s play style with more confidence.

It’s simple, and designed to make everything feel clearer and calmer.

Inside, you’ll find:
• why Spaniels get loud in play
• how to spot overwhelm vs excitement
• the early signs things are tipping
• what healthy Spaniel play actually looks like
• how to support your Spaniel when they get “too much”
• the tiny signals that matter most

If you’ve ever second‑guessed your Spaniel’s behaviour, this guide will help you breathe out.

More breeds coming soon — if you’d love your dog’s breed next, tell me in the comments.

A while ago, I watched a dog who kept moving away from play. Her owner said, “I thought she was being rude.”

But she wasn’t. She was communicating. She was saying, “I need a moment.”

And once her owner understood that, everything changed. Their walks became calmer. Their playdates became easier. Her confidence grew.

Clarity changes everything.
