Fiona's back! 🩷💞💜🩵

After smashing Kilimanjaro last month our girl Friday was back in action dog walking this week!

We had a super catch up - with hugs and tears - and flowers and chocolates and a balloon arch (which Jen & husband spent Thursday night assembling - thanks for your help Thomas).

Just Giving totals are in and this incredible woman raised £4,196.00 + £896.50 Gift Aid!

Thanks everyone for your incredible generosity and Fiona for taking the PADS logo to the top of the highest mountain in Africa, the 4th highest on the planet!

Lovely to see Perth man Sam & his handsome dog Hugo in their PADS t-shirts - yes Hugo has one too! 😁 Sam has walked 110 miles with Hugo in their matching t-shirts, telling everyone about the charity and gaining very healthy donations in the process.

Luther - first week in his new home! 💜💙

Luther the Weimaraner was very reluctantly surrendered to PADS because his Dad has a terminal illness and the family could not give everything he needed. He was really distressed when he arrived and we worried he might be here a while as Weimaraner's are not for everyone.

However just two weeks after he arrived we were delighted to receive an application from Michelle and David, who already had their own Weimaraner, Darcy - the same colour too! They brought Darcy down to meet Luther and that was it decided. Besties.

We are thrilled to share some photos of them this first week in his new Highland Perthshire home (Luther wearing the collar with the forward pointing ears, Darcy with the longer ears) and hope that his previous family see these and are pleased that despite the desperately sad reason for rehoming him, Luther is happy and loved. 💜

Max & Maisie moved to Spain! 🇪🇸

Max & Maisie are mother & son terriers who were adopted just after New Year 2024. Adopters Alan & Lesley have had PADS dogs before and when they lost Wallace & Bella had thought they wouldn't get more, until they noted these wee crackers on our website!

We were thrilled to learn that these wee guys will live their retirement in the sunshine after receiving this wonderful message from Lesley this week:

"Hi Jo and all the gang. A wee update on Maisie and max. After a 3 day drive they finally arrived in Spain and their new home in the Alicante region. They handled the drive brilliantly. They love sleeping on the terrace but are thankful for the air con in the house. They still think that every chair bed and couch belongs to them and they still bark at fresh air. Retirement for them is now long snoozes in the sun with dad. Thank you again for letting them adopt me and alan . Can’t imagine life without them."

We are so excited for all you all and wish you many happy years in the sunshine!

Happy Birthday Jim McHugh! 🎂

We are thrilled to have received a donation of £70.95 from Mike McHugh from Saint Louis, Missouri, USA in celebration of his father, Jim's birthday.

This little cutie pie is Persie, Mike's 14yo Terrier mix and Mike told me:

"I found out about your organization after a recent trip to Perth where I became aware of Persie gin. Our little 14 year old terrier is named Persie, so I was extremely delighted to see a dog-themed gin that also shared her name! My dad asked for us to make donations in his honor for his birthday, so it seemed natural to support you all and the fine work you do for dogs in the community.

I've attached a few photos of Persie as well, she also sends her appreciation!"
