We passionately believe that every pet deserves a loving forever home. Over the years, we are proud to have worked alongside rescue, and rehoming organisations across the country who strive to help pets in need find their forever loving homes. In 2021, we broadened our objectives, allowing us to support charities that work alongside pets and the people who love them. We will strive to work alongsi

Happy International Day of Charity 🎉

Did you know that through our Community Partnership Initiative, over 360 charities are partnered with their local Pets UK at Home stores, which helps them raise vital funds, recruit volunteers and reach new supporters?

From rescue and rehoming to preventing pet relinquishment, these charities provide vital support to pets and people in communities across the UK.

Today, we're celebrating the incredible organisations, volunteers and store colleagues who make this possible.

Meet Charlie 😻

A grant awarded to St Francis Animal Welfare in July helped Charlie receive the dental treatment he urgently needed.

Charlie came into their care with a broken canine tooth and several others that required extraction. Left untreated, these painful dental issues could have led to infection and further health complications.

Thanks to this support, Charlie has received the treatment he needed and is now enjoying a much more comfortable, pain-free life. 🙏

Charlie is just one of the many animals benefiting from funding that helps St Francis Animal Welfare provide life-changing care when it's needed most.

Thank you for making the Blue Cross UK Summer Appeal such a success. 💚💙

In just three weeks, our incredible supporters came together to help pets and families in need.

Together, you helped:

🐾 Raise £341,848.76
🐾 Donate 33,684 pet food parcels
🐾 Provide food for 95,864 pets through food banks across the UK

Whether you donated in-store, added a food parcel to your shop, shared our appeal, or encouraged others to get involved, every act of kindness helped make a difference.

This incredible achievement was made possible by our supporters, amazing Pets at Home colleagues, Blue Cross and food bank partners. Together, you're helping keep pets and the people who love them together when times are tough.

Did you know that around 80% of ginger cats are male? That's because the gene responsible for orange fur is carried on the X chromosome. Male cats only need one copy of the gene to be ginger, while female cats typically need to inherit it from both parents.

Thanks to your incredible support, the Blue Cross UK Summer Appeal has raised £253,082 and provided 32,120 food parcels so far, helping feed 90,857 pets for a day. 💚💙

After losing her husband just days before Christmas, Teenie's owner Jill found herself facing homelessness. Through it all, one thing never changed – she and Teenie stayed together.

For three years, Teenie has been her constant companion during some of life's hardest moments.

"She's kept me sane; she gave me a reason to keep going when I felt everything was gone. I still had my dog. She's my reason."

Support from Kinson & West Howe Foodbank and Misty's Pet Food Bank helped lift some of the burden, ensuring Teenie could get the food she needed when times were toughest.

When life takes an unexpected turn, support can make all the difference.

Mark has been using the CFINE pet food bank in Aberdeen for some time with his 9-year-old dog, Sam.

After inheriting seven kittens from a relative and later taking in two puppies, the support has helped him continue caring for the pets who depend on him.

Mark says the food bank is "smashing":
"Sam gets a good walk, rain or shine, and a good scran when we get home."

Today is Black Cat Appreciation Day! 🐈‍⬛

Did you know that some black cats can "rust" in the sun?

Their fur can develop reddish-brown tones due to a pigment called pheomelanin, creating those beautiful coppery highlights you can sometimes spot in sunlight.
