It is with great sadness that we share that a deceased cat was brought to us this morning. He was found nearby to the practice, outside the Sports Bar near the train station.

He is a ginger, neutered male, and unfortunately, was not microchipped. He was wearing a black velvet collar with rhinestones and an attached bell.

Please share this post so we can locate his owners.

If you think he may be your cat, or you have any information that could help us identify him, please contact us on 01723 513119.

The changing colours and cooler temperatures make autumn a great time to enjoy longer walks with your dog. They’ll find the cooler weather more comfortable than the summer heat, with plenty of new sights and smells to explore.

As the days get shorter, if you do head out later, make sure you and your dog are as visible as possible.
For extra visibility, consider a light-up collar for your dog. With flashing lights, they’ll be much easier to spot on darker walks.

Here’s a photo of our Patient Care Assistant, Shannon, enjoying an autumnal walk with her two dogs. 🍂

Stay safe and enjoy those autumn adventures!

From all of us at Filey Vets, we just want to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped search for Comet – Alicia, our vet’s much-loved dog – after he escaped from his dog run.

We’re so grateful to everyone who searched, kept an eye out, shared information and offered their support. It was truly heartwarming to see our community come together to help Alicia and Comet. We cannot thank you enough for the kindness and concern you showed.

And thankfully, the best news of all… Comet is now safely home with Alicia.

Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts to every single person who helped. We are so lucky to be part of such a caring community. 🐾❤️

Is your pet’s microchip information up to date?

If your pet goes missing, a microchip can help reunite you—but only if the contact details linked to it are correct.

Changed your phone number, email address or moved house? Take a moment to update your pet’s details.
If you're unsure how to access the information, or which microchip company your pet’s chip is registered with, get in touch and we can help!

A microchip is only as good as the information behind it. 🐾
