Why Choice Matters 🐴💚
Many horses kept in traditional stabling can become stressed, anxious, and frustrated. They’re often separated from their herd and confined to a space they haven’t chosen to be in.
At Golden Strides Track Livery, our horses have a choice.
They can spend time together, move around the track, graze, explore, or seek shelter whenever they want. What’s fascinating is that when the weather turns or they want a rest, you’ll often find them all tucked into the same corner together—not because they have to be, but because they choose to.
That tiny corner isn’t where they’re forced to stay. It’s where they feel safest.
Choice gives horses confidence. Freedom of movement supports both physical and mental wellbeing. And when horses are given the opportunity to make their own decisions, they show us exactly what they need.
A horse standing quietly with their friends because they want to be there tells us far more than a horse standing in a stable because they have no other option.
