The perfect red boi, Eric, was back on the diary recently but with the addition of his little sassy sausage sister, Bella!
Eric was absolutely hustling as usual, with a lovely walk round the fields and down to the canal and back, eating up the miles…while Bella indulged me only long enough to go round the block! 😂 She’s not quite as inclined to brave the outdoors as her big brother is!
Maybe when I see them again next week she may be a bit more outgoing! 🙈 though given the weather predictions, probably not! 😂

Ts & Cs Update: Imported Dogs & Brucella Canis

As I am pretty sure no one actually reads our Ts & Cs, I thought it best to put our latest update here on socials so you can’t say you didn’t see it!

But what a depressing update it is!

In light of the increasing prevalence of imported dogs in the UK, and subsequent rise in cases of Brucella Canis, to ensure the safety of our team and the dogs we walk, we are updating our Ts & Cs. This update is to ensure we are following APHA and BVA guidance, while also remaining fair to the owners of imported dogs so they still have access to services.

We acknowledge that the risk of BC being passed between dogs, and onward to humans, is low in neutered dogs, but low is not the same as no risk. As such, owners of an imported dog(s) must provide evidence of a negative blood test (SAT and eLisa) for their dog(s) to take part in any social walking.

If this is not possible, the dog(s) in question will be treated the same as a BC+ dog and walked only as a solo or same household as per APHA guidance (which we were informed of over the phone). If it is a multi-dog household and only one has tested positive, we will still need to treat them all in the same manner.

BC+ dogs, or dogs without a negative test, will only be walked away from other dogs and people, as much as is possible, as per BVA guidance, to reduce the likeliness of transmission.

We appreciate that imported dogs are tested prior to entering the UK, but this is typically done using snap tests which carry a high probability of false-negative results. As such they cannot be accepted as proof of a negative result.

We do not want to alienate owners of imported dogs, who have, in most instances, saved them from terrible conditions, but we must consider the safety of our team, our dogs, and the guidance being handed down by the authorities and that of the veterinary industry.

There are oodles of articles on the UK Gov website available to learn more, or you can find out more on the British Veterinary Associations guidance.

(Please bear in mind that the BVA main stance is extreme with recommendations for the euthanasia of BC+ dogs, which is not currently backed by the APHA. The APHA have said solo walking is still acceptable. However, we do predict that government guidelines may tighten in the coming years with the ever-increasing rise in positive cases.)

If you have any questions, please get in touch.

Is that little Miss Polly? Why yes it is!

Darling Polly had a break from the diary due to change in her owners working hours but she has made her grand return and is back out and about with me once a week.

It’s so great to have her back. Missed her! We had a dramatic reunion where she hid under the table crying until she realised who I was and then it was all cuddles and ‘why aren’t we out on a walk yet human?’ 😂

Shes so darn adorable! Welcome back Pols!

Absolutely obsessed with chunky boy Logan! 😍 He was back on the diary today for a nail trim to tidy up those dagger nails! They grow so fast! 😅
The nail trim itself went well, despite taking my life in my hands with the back feet given his tail was wagging so hard it probably would have given me a concussion…then he was down for a nap, that is, after telling me off for not bringing treats this time! 😂

The boy knows what he wants! 😂

He’s living his best life and is most definitely the centre of the family (and probably the universe). It was lovely to see him again!

Who needs AI when you can make your own sub-par posters?? 😂

It has been such a fun week here at TZZ-PCS, for Kamisha officially started on Monday and it's been brilliant so far! 🥳 But, we still have spaces available for new clients and that means advertising...woo...what joys! 😆

We've had a little revamp of the services we offer and cannot wait to welcome your dogs onto the diary! We have something to fit every hound, from our Pup Club socialisation sessions to our Spicy Dog Society for dogs with complex behavioural issues.

Why choose us? Well, we could give you the usual spiel about how we're insured, have clear DBS and canine first aid training, and we have well over 20 years combined experience. Or we could tell you that all our services are all recorded on body cams and walks tracked using GPS...but really, everyone says that!

We stand out because we are professionally unprofessional, as I like to say. Not in the sense that we're absolute degenerates (well, maybe a little) but more in that we don't hold fast to the business-customer relationship. We will treat you like real people, like our friends, and we treat your pets like they're part of our own family.

Which is why, much to the shock of other walkers in town, I've given out loads of extra services for free over the last 18 months just for the joy of spending time with the dogs and making sure that they get everything they need. Sure...I should probably cut back on that a bit because it really isn't very sensible from a business perspective, but it's my business, I can do what I want! 😂

Have I gone to a Meet & Greet for a new customer and ended up elbow deep in discussion about house plants after complimenting someone’s Monstera? Yes...yes I have. Just this week I was late home because I stayed to chat a while with one of my owners about their wanting to install solar panels (totally worth it btw!)...but this is what makes it worth while!

This is not just a job to me. This is my whole life, and I love every minute of it. Starting TZZ has been a healing journey for me after a few really difficult years, and the fact that I've been able to expand it, with every intention to expand further, is just an absolute dream.🥰

All of this has only been achievable because of all the amazing customers (now friends!) I have gathered along the way, and I...well, 'we', now...cannot wait to gather some more! ☺️

So if you are looking for a dog walker, we really hope you'll consider getting in touch with us for proper down to earth, practical, honest and mostly-professional services!

For a full breakdown of our walking services, prices and to get in touch, please visit our website at: https://www.thezoomiezone.co.uk/dogwalking

And don't forget, it's not just dog walking we do! We offer a range of services catering to all species and breeds including equine, farm and exotics!

My fave little van buddy has made a return! Coco the cockapoo is back!
Her parents are off on holiday and while she does have family staying with her, she’ll be coming with me each day this week to hang out with me and all the dog friends she made last time, and probably more! 😁

Had an early (earlier than our usual early) one with these two gorgeous girls this week and it was just stunning out.

It was very much a ‘yes the world is an absolute dumpster fire but I get to do *this* for a living’ moment with the sunrise and blue skies…loved it. My office is better than yours. Sorry not sorry! 🙈🤣

Mabel has come so far since I started walking them last year and while I have always loved going out with them both, I look forward to seeing them more than ever now that she has the freedom to run free and enjoy herself to the fullest as her recall has become so reliable.

I see them four times a week now and I love it! 😍

Inca and Ferdi the gorgeous twinning Hare Hounds made a spontaneous return to the diary earlier this week with their owner heading out for work and their usual walker currently on leave. These two are proper little hunters and spend the whole time with their noses to the ground, rummaging around for rodents and digging at mole hills unless a squirrel decides to make an appearance then they’re all but climbing trees!! 🤣
They’re a lot of fun to walk, and are so darn photogenic if you can get them to stand still! 🤣

These sassy little babies are Holly and Maxwell, a brother and sister duo, who I checked in on at the start of the week while their humans were away!
They are absolute darlings, but I’m quite sure Maxwell was offended by my very presence and only cared to acknowledge me when food was involved…me and Holly made friends though! 😅 Small wins!

Is that a noodle horse you see gracing your FYP? Why yes it is!

This is PJ, the very handsome greyhound who had his first walk with me this morning! He’s gorgeous, I love him already. We had a great long poodle through the forest where the squirrels were definitely out in force…which just added to the fun, of course.

Mr PJ will be hitting the diary twice a week moving forward and I’m so excited! 😁
