Trying to pick which pumpkin in the competition is the cutest… tough choice! 🐶🎃

The Friday groups are both known for their awesome group pictures! But the real question is, which Friday team does it better? AM or PM? 📸

For a bonus point, see if you can spot which pup appears in both walkies 🐾

*Update*

Thank you so much for your patience, loyalty, and continued support - it means everything to us.

We’ve been through the full cycle of emotions over the last few days. But once the dust settled, our mindset became crystal clear: we are not quitters. We’ve all poured a lot of time, hard work, money, and love into building Wagtails into a brand that local dog owners trust, and we are completely resolute about keeping that alive.

*Wagtails Doggy Day Care*
To be completely open with you, it's not damage to our day care site that is keeping our doors closed - physically, we think with the offers of help we've had we could be back operationally in a reasonable amount of time. The real hurdle right now is access to and from the site while the official investigation on the main farm is underway. At this stage, we simply don't have a firm timeline for how long that restriction will last.

Rather than waiting around, we are adapting and moving forward.

We have already started mapping out interim care and service solutions to support customers while site access remains blocked.

*Rettendon Dog Park - Wagtails*
Again, it's not damage that will keep the park closed. Once we have access, we will be able to get things operational. However, the main road is still closed until further notice. We will do everything we can to open the park at the earliest opportunity.

Best wishes,

Team Wagtails

An important update regarding the Highlands Farm fire 🐾

By now, many of you have seen the news about the major fire at Highlands Farm on Friday afternoon.

The most important thing is that all our team members, the dogs in our care and our customers are completely safe. We could not be prouder of our staff for their response.

Thank you to the emergency services for their extraordinary work on Friday and over the weekend.

To everyone who has reached out - our dog parents, friends, and local community - thank you.

Our thoughts are also with the Chennells family and with all of the other businesses at Highlands Farm. It is a close community here and we are thinking of everyone affected.

The scale of the fire across the main part of the farm has been devastating, and we are now working through what this means for us.

Rettendon Dog Park:
Rettendon Dog Park has escaped major damage. With some clean up and safety checks, we hope to have the Dog Park open and back in action soon.

Wagtails Doggy Day Care:
We are still working to understand the full extent of the disruption. Until we do, the day care will be closed.

We appreciate your patience as we navigate this. We will share further updates as soon as we are able.

Thank you ❤️

Woody is working on polite greetings with trainer Hannah. Woody is a very friendly boy and likes to jump up when he says hello so Hannah and his owners have been encouraging an alternative behaviour.

You can see here Woody is making good progress with Hannah practicing early stages of ‘Middle’ which is a great alternative behaviour because Woody gets the physical closeness he craves but is unable to jump up while he is in position.

Training isn’t just available to our day care dogs. If you would like more information on how we can help you and your pooch achieve your goals, send us an enquiry today.

Let’s talk about the food we use at Wagtails Doggy Day Care!

Snacks are an essential part of our reward-based training principles here at Wagtails, and we use lots of different foods in enrichment activities for the dogs too.

Here’s our staple favourites!

Bringing a puppy home is the best feeling. The cuddles, the clumsiness, and the unconditional love we get from them can fill our lives with so much joy.

However, raising a puppy can also be a tough journey at times. The sleepless nights, teething, toilet training, and losing your favourite shoes to puppy chewing can all lead to frustration and despair when you no longer recognise that cute, sleepy puppy you brought home a few weeks ago.

But remember, this phase passes! With the right guidance and patience, your journey can remain fun and less stressful.

Our independent trainer, Hannah provides puppy packages shaped around you and your pup. They focus on both of your needs and offer ongoing support to keep you both happy and on track.

For more information on puppy packages send an enquiry today 🐾
