This is a post I never imagined I’d be writing, but after a lot of thought, sleepless nights and difficult conversations, I’ve made the decision to bring my journey with Lady’s Little Paws and Lady’s Daycare & Boarding to an end.
When I started this business, my goal was simple: to create somewhere dogs could feel safe, happy, understood and loved. Somewhere their individual personalities and funny little quirks were celebrated, and their welfare always came first.
What started as a dream became something so much bigger than I ever imagined. I’ve met the most wonderful dogs and their families, and made memories I’ll treasure for the rest of my life.
Losing our commercial premises earlier this year was heart-breaking. I wasn’t ready to let go of everything I’d worked so hard to build, so I continued offering daycare and boarding from home while hoping to find somewhere new.
However, what was intended to be a temporary solution has gradually taken over almost every part of my personal life. Between caring for the dogs, collections, bookings and all the work behind the scenes, I’ve been left with very little time or energy for anything else. With boarding included, my home has become my workplace seven days a week, and I’ve reached a point where I’m mentally and physically exhausted.
One of the hardest parts has been the impact on Lady. She’s the reason this business began, and now, at ten years old, she deserves more peace, quiet and time with her family. I miss our walks together, our quiet days and simply having time to enjoy being her mum.
I adore the dogs I care for, and I always will. Saying goodbye to them is by far the hardest part of this decision. But I need to make room for my own wellbeing, my family and the little dog who started it all.
I’ve therefore decided that I won’t be reopening Lady’s Little Paws in new premises, and our home daycare and boarding services will also be coming to an end.
Our final day of daycare will be Thursday 29th October 2026, with Lady’s Daycare & Boarding officially closing on Friday 30th October. Existing boarding commitments will still be honoured as arranged, but no further bookings will be accepted.
To everyone who has been waiting and hoping for news of new premises, I’m so sorry this isn’t the update we’d hoped for.
Although this is incredibly emotional, it’s a decision I’m at peace with. I know I’ve given this business everything I possibly could, and I’m proud of what we created.
I’ve watched puppies grow up, seen nervous dogs find their confidence, celebrated little achievements and laughed endlessly at their ridiculous antics. So many of your dogs have become part of my everyday life, and I’ll miss their happy little faces more than I can explain.
To everyone who has trusted me with their dogs, recommended us, supported the business or simply followed our journey: thank you. Thank you for believing in my dream and letting me love your dogs as though they were my own. It has been an absolute privilege.
For now, I’m looking forward to having our home back, spending some much-needed time with Scott and Lady, and giving myself the chance to enjoy the next chapter. My love for animals and passion for their welfare will always be part of who I am.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything.
Lots of love,
Chloe & Lady
