KithnKin PWDs Breeder of Portuguese Water Dogs As a small-scale home-based breeder, my focus is on producing medium-sized dogs that excel in various dog sports.

I prioritize health, temperament, and athleticism in my breeding program to ensure that my puppies not only thrive in competitive environments but also make excellent family companions. The Portuguese Water Dog is renowned for its versatility and intelligence, enabling it to excel in agility, obedience, and other dog sports. My breeding practices are centered on responsible and ethical standards,

including genetic testing and careful selection of both dam and sire. I ensure the puppies are well-socialized from an early age, introducing them to different environments, people, and experiences to build their confidence and adaptability. Each puppy is raised in a loving home environment, where they receive the attention and training needed to prepare them for their future homes. I also provide potential buyers with guidance on training and sports participation, so they can enjoy a fulfilling experience with their new companion. By focusing on quality over quantity, I aim to contribute to the breed’s excellence in sports while ensuring that each dog is a healthy, happy member of a family. Smokey- Annual Caer exam ✅
Navy and Hijinx - Swim at Pawsio ✅
Home Depot - crate fan for Hijinx ✅

Hijinx is DEFINITELY a water dog. He was not impressed when I held him out of the water so Navy could retrieve the bumper. Little boy, swam, retrieved and jumped off the ramp like he was bred for it 😂

On May 17, Smokey and Navy got to try Sprinter for the first time! Unfortunately, the clutch went in the lure earlier in the day so it was a 100m recall but nevertheless the girls had a blast.

Yes, they are both sporting their “naked” summer trims:
1. Ticks are extremely plentiful and teeny tiny this year (short coat makes the daily tick checks easier)
2. Smokey’s coat needed a reset after having the litter
3. Hoping to get the girls out swimming more this summer, as I really want to earn their AWD titles this year 🤞

No rest for the weary around here!

Smokey has her annual CAER exam on Friday morning in Moncton, after which the dogs will have a chance to go swimming at Pawsio. Saturday will see Smokey and Navy compete in Rally at the Cobequid Dog Club show, and then Sunday Navy will be in Rally while Smokey is competing in Obedience. After which Hijinx will need to get his weekly bath and blowout to prepare for his final baby puppy competition the following weekend

Two weekends ago the girls and I attempted a new sport, Sprinter Trials. Even though the clutch went out of the lure system the dogs and I got our workout doing 100m recalls x 3.
