This is a great diagram I thought Id share.
It is so important to have regular nail trimming every 4 to 6 weeks.
Overgrown nails cause arthritis in the toes, feet and legs. Over time it can cause back issues.
The nerve of the nail grows our with the nail and we can only safely cut as short as the nerve. Regular clipping and grinding shrinks the nerve back so we can get the nails shorter.
The diffrence between nail grinding and clipping is we can get the nails shorter and smoother with grinding. We are only taking off small bits at a time so we're able to get closer to the nerve. It's also great for summer when we're wearing shorts and for people who have thin skin as the grinder rounds the nail off so it's not sharp after, unlike trimming.
