This handsome boy quickly discovered one of our favourite feline-friendly spots in the clinic—and decided it was the perfect place to supervise everything from above. 👀

Cats naturally feel safer when they have the option to climb, perch, and observe their surroundings from a higher place. Creating spaces that allow them to do just that can help make their veterinary visit a little less stressful. 🤍

Because at Vetter, we believe a trip to the vet shouldn’t mean giving up all the comforts of being a cat. 🐾

I mean… LOOK AT THEM! 😭🥹 They are SO tiny!!!

These little fluff balls came in for their first puppy visits, and our entire team immediately melted. 🥹🐶🐶🐶

First exams, first health checks, lots of cuddles, and of course making sure these babies are off to the healthiest start possible. 🩺✨

🚧 A quick parking update for our Vetter Pet Care families! 🚧

Due to ongoing construction in the area, parking around the clinic is currently limited.

There are a few parking spots available on Archibald Street, Meath Street, and between Buildings C and E. However, for the time being, the best parking option is across the street at Westgate Shopping Centre, where Shoppers Drug Mart is located.

We apologize for the inconvenience and truly appreciate your patience and understanding while the construction work is ongoing. 🤍🐾

Starting the week with a little extra PPE! 😅🦠🐱

Getting ready to see three adorable kittens with ringworm — because sometimes being a vet means looking less like a doctor and more like a walking blue marshmallow. 😂💙

Ringworm is highly contagious and can spread between pets and people, so when we suspect it, we take infection control seriously! 🧤🧼

Meet your new best friend… 🐱🤍

Kittens may be tiny, but their healthcare needs are BIG! From vaccines and parasite prevention to nutrition, growth, and those very important first checkups, starting off on the right paw sets them up for a lifetime of good health.

And let’s be honest… kitten wellness visits are also a pretty great excuse for extra cuddles. 🥹🐾

Safe to say all the girls at Vetter were OBSESSED with Lola. 🥹💚

I mean… just look at her! Those little ears, that squishy face, and that adorable Frenchie personality had everyone asking for a turn to hold her. This carousel is proof. 😂

Lola came to see us for her very first puppy vaccines, and she completely stole our hearts.

French Bulldogs are undeniably adorable, but it’s also a little bittersweet for us. As veterinarians, we know that many flat-faced breeds are predisposed to lifelong health challenges, including breathing difficulties, skin fold infections, eye problems, allergies, spinal issues, and more. We get to enjoy all the cuteness, but we also see the struggles that can come with it.

That doesn’t make us love them any less—it just reminds us how important responsible breeding, preventive care, and regular veterinary visits are to help these wonderful dogs live the healthiest, happiest lives possible.

Welcome to the Vetter family, Lola! We can’t wait to watch you grow up. 🫶🐾

Poor Haley had quite the adventure… and it didn’t exactly end as planned. 🥹🐶

While enjoying a slumber party, Haley managed to get his head stuck in a pool fence, leaving him with an aural hematoma (a pocket of blood that forms inside the ear flap). Ouch! 💚

The good news is that Haley is in great hands, and we’ll be helping him get that ear feeling better in no time.

Moral of the story? Even the best sleepovers can get a little too exciting. 😂🐾

Pets don’t always show us when something is wrong. 💚🐱

That’s why regular bloodwork and urine testing are so important—they can uncover hidden problems long before they become emergencies, allowing us to intervene earlier and give our patients the best possible care.

Eva came in because her mom was concerned about her weight. As part of her workup, we ran bloodwork and a urine test. Even though Eva wasn’t showing any urinary signs, her urine contained a large number of crystals.

To investigate further, we performed an abdominal ultrasound and discovered the real culprit: a bladder stone.

While Eva will still need surgery to remove the stone, we’re fortunate to have therapeutic diets that can help support both healthy weight loss and urinary health moving forward.

A huge thank you to Eva’s mom for trusting us to dig a little deeper. Her decision helped us catch a painful problem that Eva was hiding so well.

There are some patients you know you will never forget. Hera will be one of them. 🤍

I met Hera shortly after her family moved to Canada from China. She had stopped eating, and we soon discovered she was much sicker than we initially thought.

Despite all efforts, we reached a point where there was no longer a path forward that would give Hera the quality of life she deserved. Today, her family made the heartbreaking decision to let her go peacefully.

At the end, they shared words and a small gift they had brought from China—telling me they believed I was meant to help Hera, and wishing prosperity for my hospital so I could continue helping more animals.

I lost it.

Because sometimes, we carry so much of this work home with us—wondering if we did enough, if we made the right calls, if we could have done more.

Their kindness reminded me why I do this.

To my team, thank you for allowing me to live this dream with you. 🤍

And to Hera’s family—thank you for trusting me with her care. 🕊️
