If your pet goes missing, act fast. Start by searching your immediate area and follow the lost pet tips on our website.

File a lost pet report with the OHS right away and check our website regularly to see if your pet has been brought to the shelter.

Spread the word by posting online and putting up lost pet posters in your neighbourhood.

Meet Rihanna! She's a loving two-year-old rabbit who has been patiently waiting for her forever home for almost an entire year.

She’s a sweet, playful and curious girl with a big personality and so much love to give. Rihanna may be a little shy at first but once she feels comfortable, her true personality shines through. She loves having plenty of space to run, binky and explore outside of her enclosure. Most of all, she loves spending time with her favourite people, especially when it means getting lots of pets and soaking up all the affection she deserves.

Meet Luckette! She's a sweet six-year-old cat looking for her loving forever home. She would do best in a quiet home without children. Sweet little seven-week-old Patty Cake was found lost and alone outdoors in desperate need of help. She had a large open wound along one of her hind legs. The OHS veterinary team examined her and discovered her leg was also broken.

We know seeing an injured animal can be distressing. To protect the well-being of our followers, we've shared a censored photo of the injury Patty Cake had when she arrived in our care. Patty Cake's story is a powerful reminder of the reality of an animal shelter - we don't always know what condition an animal will be in when they come through our doors, but we're ready to help.

Because Patty Cake is still so small, our veterinary team has decided that it is safest to give her some time to grow and gain weight while we monitor whether further surgery is needed. In the meantime, she is resting with a dedicated foster volunteer where she is being closely monitored, receiving pain medication, care and love while she grows stronger. Once she's ready, we'll reassess and determine the next steps for her recovery.
