After three incredibly difficult days filled with an emergency C-section, post-surgery complications, heartbreak, and more sleepless hours than we can count, we are finally able to introduce you to Violet’s little survivor. 🤎
Meet Kenai. 🐻
D.O.B. 08/05/26
Through everything these past few days have brought, I don’t think I could be more proud of Violet.
She is still recovering from her C-section and everything her body has been through, while at the same time learning how to be a mom for the very first time. She has been delicate, thoughtful, brave, loving, strong and protective. Even while she is healing herself, her little bear is always her priority.
She absolutely adores him. 🤎
There is also a very special story behind the names of Violet’s three boys.
This was our very first litter of three boys, and when it came time to name them, Brother Bear immediately came to mind. That movie has always held a very special place in our hearts because of our Koda — and now, all these years later, Koda is the great-grandmother of these three little boys. 🤎
It felt like the names had simply fallen into our hands.
And so our three little bears became Sitka, Denahi, and Kenai.
What we never could have known was just how much meaning those names would come to carry.
Sadly, our little Sitka did not survive the birth and C-section. In Brother Bear, Sitka’s spirit watches over his brothers from above, and somehow that part of the story now feels especially close to our hearts. We like to think that our little Sitka is doing the same — watching over his brothers from above. 🤍
Then, heartbreakingly, our little Denahi took a turn for the worse. We were only given one short day with him before we had to say goodbye.
And now our little Kenai carries on, with not one, but two brothers watching over him. 🤍🐻
It certainly isn't the way we ever wanted our own Brother Bear story to unfold, but there is something comforting about knowing these three little boys will always be connected.
After everything that has happened, seeing Kenai tucked safely beside his mom feels incredibly special.
Right now, Violet and Kenai are both recovering well. Violet is eating and slowly getting stronger, and Kenai is doing exactly what a growing little bear should be doing — eating, sleeping and gaining weight. And with the entire milk bar to himself, he certainly has plenty of options. 😂🐻
For a first-time mom, Violet has been incredible. Watching her care for him while recovering herself has shown me another side of this beautiful girl.
I am so proud of my Violet. She has been unbelievably strong through all of this, and I am completely in love with her little man.
Wherever Kenai’s journey takes him, and whatever name he may one day be called at home, Kenai will always be part of his registered name. His name carries a story that belongs to him — the story of Violet, three little bears, two brothers watching over him, and one little survivor who kept fighting. 🤎🐻
Welcome to the world, Kenai. 🤎🐾
Our little survivor, with two very special brothers watching over him. 🤍
