HOW MUCH DO YOU KNOW ABOUT VETERINARY TECHNICIANS? 🐾🩺

When you bring your pet to the clinic, you might see our veterinary technicians collecting samples, giving treatments, or helping your pet feel comfortable. But did you know their responsibilities go far beyond what you see during your visit? 👀

Our technicians help with things like:

🩸 Collecting blood and other samples for laboratory testing
💊 Administering medications and treatments
🩻Taking X-rays and performing other diagnostic procedures
💉 Giving subcutaneous fluids and, certain vaccine boosters

October 15th is National Grouch Day! And boy, do we have the purr-fect candidate! 💚😾

Meet Grumpy! With that luxurious coat, those striking eyes, and an expression that says, “I’m two sizes too grumpy for this nonsense,” we couldn’t think of a better feline to celebrate! 😂🐾

Now, we don’t want to point any paws, but… is it just us, or does Grumpy look a LOT like the Grinch?! We’re not saying he’s plotting to steal Christmas, but that face definitely says he has some strong opinions about holiday cheer. 👀🎄🎁🤣

CONSTRUCTION NOTICE: Please Plan Ahead for Your Upcoming Appointments! 🚧

A quick heads-up for our clients! The City of Ottawa will be carrying out guiderail construction in our surrounding area between now and mid-December 2026. Construction will take place during the day and may cause temporary traffic delays due to traffic control and flagging operations.

📍 Roads affected include: • Cedarview Road • Colonial Road • Dunning Road • Innes Road • Kinburn Side Road • March Valley Road • Marchurst Road • Parkway Road • River Road • Stagecoach Road • Thomas A. Dolan Parkway

🚗 We recommend allowing some extra travel time when heading to the clinic so you can arrive for your pet’s appointment on time. A little extra planning can help keep your visit as stress-free as possible for both you and your furry family member! 🐶🐱💕

Houston, we have a CAT-uation! Meet Edward! 🐱🚀

At just 6 months old, this magnificent Maine C**n is already weighing in at a whopping 12.6 lbs! This handsome fella arrived in a cat-shaped spaceship carrier, proving that ordinary transportation is simply beneath him. 😂💫🛸

Our staff tried their best to get a picture of this adorable space traveller. We waved, we posed, we held up our phones… but Edward was completely unbothered. Apparently, we were just the ground crew, and he was the captain. 📸🙋‍♀️

We will see you for your next mission, Edward! 🐾💙

Happy Thanksgiving! 🍁🦃

As you celebrate this long weekend, here are a few friendly reminders to help keep your pets safe:
🐶 Keep human food out of reach, especially rich or fatty foods that can upset your pet’s stomach.
🍗 Dispose of turkey bones carefully; cooked bones can splinter and cause serious injury if eaten.
🍫 Keep chocolate, grapes, onions, and alcohol far from curious paws; these can all be toxic to pets.
🕯️ Be mindful of candles and decorations; wagging tails and curious kitties can knock things over in a flash!
