Oliver 🤎

Oli, Mr.Hissy, Beautiful Boy

I have been sitting Oliver on occasion since 2025.
He loves no human except for his mom.

Oliver had a lot going on with his health sometimes, when his mom would work extra long days, I would stop in to serve him his lunch.
Over 1 year into visiting Oliver, he was still hissy and wanted his space. So, of course, I respected that.
A cat needs to build trust in you. And, the only way that can happen is of you respect their boundaries.

Little by little, Oliver would work his way to being comfortable with me in the same room as him.
I’d offer play from a distance so he would come on his own timeline. He never did. And, really, that is okay!

But! On my last visit with Oli, he actually came up to me. Smelled my hand and my phone as I took his photos and I was able to ever so slightly pet him. He then walked away hissing, but stayed in the same room as me.
I was so happy that Oliver had taken a small leap. As was his mom.

Oliver’s mom let me know 2 weeks ago that her Oli had been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and only been given 4-6 more months.
Sadly, things took a turn and Oliver had to be assisted to cross the Rainbow Bridge just 11 days after I was told.

This is the hardest part of this career…The losses.
I get attached to these souls too. Not just my own cats, but yours too.

May this Beautiful Boy rest well as he waits for his mom over the rainbow bridge.

Tippy 🩶

Tips, Tippy tap, Mr. Squawk

There is nothing quite like a talkative cat and Tippy has A LOT to say!
From the moment I walk through the door, take my shoes off and set by bags down, Tops has already told me that I need to hurry up and serve him breakfast, that he needs fresh water and that he so desperately can’t wait for his human to return so he can go outside.
So, I reassure him that he is not, in-fact, starving as he still has some food leftover from his dinner, that his water has only been sitting dinner and it’s still safe to drink until I serve him some fresh and that his human will be back before he knows it and he can walk in the grass with her.
I tell him he’s handsome, that he’s a good boy, that he’s smart and funny. But, he needs more 😆♥️

Kai visited for a third time. This time she was here for 2 weeks.
Kai is a master of food puzzles and doesn’t take very long to figure out how they work. She’s also a very active girl at home. Her human usually spreads out her food all over the house for her to find. While here, her food was scattered on the wall structures, in her puzzles, inside toys and tucked under her blanket.
Kai also enjoys a good snuffle mat.

Today is World Pet Memorial Day ♥️🌈💔

A special day dedicated to honoring and celebrating the lives of all the beloved pets who have passed away.

The unconditional love and acceptance they give just for our mere existence far outweighs the dirty windows from wet noses, dirty floors from little paws, scratched up furniture, vetting costs and furry clothes.
When they leave, they take a piece of us with them and hold onto it while they wait for you to cross too.

Forever in my heart, Mika, Tuxedo, Whiskey, Herk & Gracie.

My Gracie 💜

Gracie Lou (Freebush), Miss Gracie, Floof, Her Majesty

Some of you have had the pleasure of meeting our Gracie when dropping off your cats for boarding.
You got to experience her kindness, gentleness and sweetness.

There will be one less face to greet you when you walk through our door as we sadly had to let her go yesterday.

We really hoped we could have given her one more day and make it extra special, but she unfortunately took a turn for the worse.
Gracie passed away at home, curled up in her very favourite bed with the help of our vet.

She is deeply loved and missed.
Truly, the hardest part about having a cat is the good-bye.

May she freely chase all the bugs and smell all the flowers, pain free as she waits for us over the rainbow bridge.

Miguel 🧡

Miggy, Mr. Miggs, Peachy

Just like his brother Elliott, Miguel is so sweet and so gentle.
A little more on the timid side. But once he gets his treat and his daily medication, he’s your buddy for life.
Obsessed with catnip toys and rips through them un no time, he enjoyed opening his Sandpaper Kisses & Toe Beans kicker on Christmas Day.
Miguel is on a special diet due to his sensitive tummy and enjoys his wet food very much.

Elliott 🧡

Eli, Buddy, Cutie

So sweet, so gentle.
Elliott loves his catnip toys, ribbon wands and creamy treats.
He always greets me at the door on every visit and likes to supervise as I wash the dishes, serve their food and water and clean up after him and his brother Miguel.

Ralph🧡

Ralph was a very special sweet boy. A rescue with a very hard beginning in life.
He was medically fragile with a heart condition, hyperesthesia, lost all of his teeth but 1 canine, had perineal urethrostomy surgery which lead to several bladder infections, he was FIV+ and in his past life, he’d been shot in the leg with a pellet gun. This poor boy definitely lived his 9 lives in his short life of 10 years.

His humans never gave up on him. They were there for him from the day they adopted him until the very end.
His mom let me know that Ralph unfortunately crossed the rainbow bridge this morning after developing a blood clot and lost use of his hind legs.
His humans are truly remarkable people who took the very best care of their boy and I feel incredibly privileged that they trusted me to care for their Ralph when they needed to be away.

On our meet and greet, Ralph came around and decided to just climb me and rest on my shoulder. He could have stayed there for hours.

Ralph, may he rest as he waits for his people over the rainbow bridge, free of pain, free of stress.

You were loved so very deeply and will be missed. 🤍🧡♥️

Summer and Stanley enjoying their fave spots during their stay here.
It takes these 2 less than 30 minutes to feel at home every time they visit.
While they love their humans, they love being here too!
