Frankie and his family have spent a long time preparing to welcome a new family member. Every step of the journey has been carefully planned with safety, respect, and emotional well-being in mind.

This video highlights one of our parallel sessions, where Frankie and his new brother are learning to exist comfortably within the same environment while appropriate management strategies remain in place. These sessions help build familiarity, confidence, and positive associations as their relationship continues to develop over time.

Day 6 of Lady VAN Adventures 🌪️🚐

Today was exciting and productive! The diesel heater was cleaned and reinstalled just in time for a tornado warning… well, almost. 😅 Phil nearly rode out the storm from underneath the rig.

I also had a small heart attack after almost losing Miss Ivy down the stream. Thankfully, all was well in the end. Lady Van is coming together, and tomorrow it’s finally time to head home. ✨

And We’re Off! 🚐✨ Lady VAN Adventures 2026 Begin

The first Lady VAN adventure of 2026 is officially underway! We’re headed to Southern Ontario where a friend is helping me install an AC unit on the roof.

Yes… this means we’re cutting a giant hole in the top of Lady Van. 😅 Wish us luck!

Exploring Outdoor Spaces with Theo: Session 2 of 5 🌿🐾

Today Theo continued his outdoor exploration program with lesson two of five—and he did fantastic. He was able to maintain emotional regulation even in highly stimulating situations, showing growing confidence and resilience.

One of the biggest wins today was his improving ability to recover from triggering events. That recovery process is where so much progress happens for sensitive dogs like Theo.

Proud of this guy for continuing to meet the world with more stability, understanding, and trust. 💛

Mira & Moby: Parallel Training for a Service Dog Duo 🐾✨

Mira and Moby, both service dogs in training from the same household, worked in parallel with me today — and it was a wonderful session. Mira, being older and more advanced, has naturally become a great model for young Moby, who is still navigating his feelings about children. Mira, on the other hand, finds the sight of other dogs more challenging.

What I’ve learned over the years is this: every service dog has at least one element in their training that challenges them. And that’s normal. Through thoughtful training, a strong relationship with their handler, and dedicated teamwork, most of these hurdles can be overcome.

Watching these two grow together — each supporting the other in their own way — is truly special. 💛

This 19-week-old Border Collie puppy has been working through our Puppy Blueprint Program and is almost ready to transition into our Thriving Teen Program. Today we spent time reviewing a few foundational skills as we continue moving through the curriculum.

Progress is never linear — and sometimes taking a small step back is exactly what allows us to make big steps forward. This little one is right on track. 💛
