🚨 South Cariboo Ranch Show Rescheduled 🚨
This is definitely not the announcement we were hoping to make.
After a great deal of thought and discussion, we've made the difficult decision to reschedule the South Cariboo Ranch Show to October 3 & 4, 2026.
This wasn't an easy decision, but we truly believe it's the right one.
With our grounds currently being used to support evacuees, ongoing wildfire activity throughout our region, heavy smoke making it unsafe for many horses and riders to prepare, and so much uncertainty about what the coming weeks may bring, we simply can't ask competitors, volunteers, sponsors, and spectators to make plans under these conditions.
Many of our exhibitors would also be travelling into an active wildfire area, facing the possibility of changing road conditions or evacuation alerts, while competing for accommodations, fuel, food, and other resources our communities need available for evacuees and the emergency personnel working tirelessly to protect them.
While we know everyone has been looking forward to this event, we simply can't ask people to travel into this level of uncertainty. We would much rather give everyone plenty of notice now than wait and hope conditions improve at the last minute. By making this decision now, we hope to give everyone time to adjust their plans while allowing our community to focus on what matters most.
If you've already entered the show, you'll receive an email in the next day or two. Your entry will automatically transfer to the October dates, and anyone unable to attend will have the option of a refund.
The Outriders have always been about bringing our community together. Right now, the best way we can support our community is by stepping back and allowing these resources—and everyone's attention—to remain focused where they're needed most.
Like so many of you, we're watching the situation unfold with heavy hearts. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by these fires, those who have been evacuated, the emergency personnel and firefighters working around the clock, and the many volunteers, neighbours, and organizations helping one another through an incredibly difficult time.
Although we're disappointed, we're also hopeful. We'll be looking forward to welcoming everyone back on October 3 & 4, when we can come together to celebrate our horses, our sport, and our incredible community under much happier—and much safer—circumstances.
