Kiwi is looking for her new home!

Kiwi is a sweet pineapple green-cheek conure who recently came into Second Chance Wings Rescue, and she has been an absolute sweetheart.

She’s accustomed to a busy household with children, other animals and everyday noise, so we believe she could adjust well to many different home settings. She’s friendly, easygoing and would make a wonderful little companion for the right family.

She love snuggling into your face and relaxing! She’s very talented at making kiss sounds and she has been a delight to get to know!

We’re looking for either a foster-to-adopt placement or a committed forever home. Foster-to-adopt would allow Kiwi and her potential family some time to settle in together and make sure it’s the perfect match before finalizing her adoption.

As with any parrot, interactions with children and other animals must always be closely supervised.

We welcomed this sweet little girl into the rescue last night 💚

She’s a green-cheek conure and has already made herself quite comfortable. She’s curious, cuddly and has been happily bobbing her head and tapping her beak while hanging out with us.

We’re going to give her some time to settle in and get to know her before sharing more, but so far she is an absolute sweetheart.

Posting as a Rehome!

“Kiwi is about 6 years old and I believe she is a female. Enjoys being outside of cage and doesn’t wander far from her cage. She enjoys rubbing at back of her neck and having a bath under the kitchen tap. When I got her, her wings had been kept clipped but she has figured out how to fly comfortably. When she flies it is usually onto me for attention. She is quiet and cuddly bird”

Pickle has been with us for 2 months almost and he has come a long way!
When he got here we couldn’t touch him, he would attack everything

He now loves scritches under the chin (he still bites good when he’s done)
And he has been letting my husband and I preen him almost daily! Today we tried out a new bath and loved it!

2 of the babies that we hand raised are back for a visit!
Their mama has a trip and has boarded them here while she is gone ☺️ we couldn’t be happier to have them back here ❤️🥰

💚 Meet Pickle! 💚

Pickle is a 3-year-old Quaker parrot who has officially completed his quarantine and is ready to find his forever home!

Pickle is a bird who knows exactly what he likes—and what he doesn’t. He has shown a very strong preference for men, so we are looking for a male-only home where he can build a lasting bond.

He is only partially tame and prefers interactions on his own terms. Physical touch is entirely on Pickle’s schedule, and if his boundaries aren’t respected, he will bite. Because of this, he will only be considered for an experienced home that understands parrot body language and is comfortable working through biting without punishment.

Pickle isn’t looking for someone to cuddle him—he’s looking for someone who will appreciate him for the intelligent, independent little bird he is. With patience, consistency, and realistic expectations, we believe he can continue to grow and thrive with the right person.

If you have experience with parrots, can safely manage bites, and are looking to earn the trust of a bird with a big personality, Pickle may be the perfect match for you.

We thought we would share an adoption update on the two baby conures that went together!
They are happy and thriving! They have a very loving family with 2 kids and lots of attention!
