We Couldn’t Have Done This Without Them
In ten years of business we have had the pleasure of working with some amazing horses. Unfortunately some of them only blessed our lives for a short time.
Our journey with Nimbus started a lot more than 8 years ago but this is the Gotcha Day where he came home for the last time. Nimbus didn’t make it into any riding classes but he did teach people how to lunge, brush, and work with a cautious horse. Unfortunately despite our efforts he did not feel up to returning to being a riding horse and with the hardships we know him and his body faced over the years, we figured we worked so hard to keep him alive we were going to cherish him for what time we got to spend with him. Nimbus was passive, did not thrive with assertiveness and confrontation, loved kids and was the best uncle to the weanlings. I learned a ton about horsemanship, horse care and equine first aid from Nim, but what I remember the most is his soft heart and his gentle soul that offered companionship and Love

Gestation day 375 and we Finally have our little John.
His arrival was a bit of a surprise despite his late appearance because Amelia still wasn’t milked up, and so she was also a bit ill prepared for his arrival. Most of our day has been spent with the pair supplementing milk replacer and making sure the little man got some plasma to make up for the lack of colostrum. With a little bit of help for mom too; her milk is finally starting to come in. Otherwise he is feisty, agile, and conquering his milestones and mom is an attentive superstar.

Sooo…. I knew sooner or later I would forget one, we apologize deeply for missing your birthday Noname 😅
There are very few people who come to the barn who don’t know Noname. In fact when we go to other events like the taber winter gymkhanas and the jumping shows- they specifically ask where she is if we haven’t brought her and there is a list of people hoping that we’ll be silly enough to want to rehome her. She has come an incredibly long way with her confidence, her ability and has turned into a pony we can count on in almost any situation from steady babysitter, skilled trail pony, and so much more. Already this year she has secured a buckle for a winter gymkhana series with her talented young rider, has brought home ribbons with a couple riders at a jumping show and is getting ready for our schooling show this weekend. Whatever formula we used to help craft this talented pony, we are so very grateful that she has blessed our lives and we are so very sorry that we missed celebrating your birthday on May 3rd. I’m going to have to make it up to her with a couple extra carrots
