❄️🐾 Parasites Don't Take a Winter Holiday! 🐾❄️

As the temperatures drop, it's easy to assume fleas, ticks, and intestinal worms disappear for the season—but unfortunately, that's not always the case!

Many parasites can survive and thrive indoors, while others remain active throughout winter, especially during milder weather.

Year-round parasite prevention helps:
✔️ Protect your pet from fleas, ticks, and worms
✔️ Prevent uncomfortable itching and skin problems
✔️ Reduce the risk of parasite-related diseases
✔️ Protect your family, as some parasites can be passed to humans

The best way to keep your pet protected is to stay up to date with their parasite prevention all year round—not just in the warmer months.

Not sure if your pet is due for their next treatment? Give our team a call and we'll be happy to help! 🐶🐱❤️

Winter can be tough on our senior pets, but a few simple changes can make a big difference in keeping them comfortable and happy. 🐾

❄️ Keep them warm and comfortable with soft bedding and cosy spots away from drafts.

❄️ Gentle daily movement helps maintain mobility — think short walks or light play suited to their pace.

❄️ Support stiff joints with easy home access (like non-slip flooring), and keep an eye on their weight, as extra kilos can add strain.

❄️ Make sure they’re drinking enough water, even in cooler weather.

❄️ Don’t skip regular health checks — early detection is key to keeping them feeling their best. 💛

Recently we celebrated a very special member of our team before she heads off on maternity leave 👶

We spoiled Caitlyn with a little in-clinic baby shower, complete with sweet treats, baby predictions, and lots of excitement as we count down to meeting her little one! 🍼✨

While we'll miss seeing her smiling face around the clinic, we couldn't be happier for her! 🥰

From all of us at Salamander Bay Veterinary Clinic, we wish you all the love, happiness, and precious memories ahead Caitlyn. We can't wait for baby cuddles! 🐾
