I have had dogs my whole life and appreciate the importance of the pet and owner relationship. I have been a veterinary nurse since 2002 and have taught puppy classes since 2009. I am a member of the Pet Professional Guild and the Association of Pet Dog Trainers Australia.

Last night I had the pleasure of meeting 17year old Jack! Jack is senior citizen who has a heart murmur and finds nail trimming a very stressful process.

Nail trimming can be very stress inducing for some animals and Jack has nipped when having his nails done in the past.

Under careful vet guidance Jack was given an anti anxiety tablet to help him stay calmer during this process.

Jack was gently muzzled with a basket muzzle loaded with yummy chicken and while receiving cuddles from his mummy we were able to quickly trim his nails and help him feel more comfortable on his feet 🥰

Birds really do not enjoy being over restrained so we took it very slow. A selection of yummy treats was offered but Donnie was just needing his mum’s cuddles more than anything ❤️
