I recon this is for rehab.

Bright colours make it easy to find if it comes off in the paddock!

It was also our last yellow gaiter and like strap in M.

A few pairs are still left in other sizes.

Good for an abscess, laminitis or other hoof problem that needs protection. Can be used 24/7 for extended periods if required.

Reflective gaiters used to be an additional purchase. You can now get them included with the boots instead.

They are an unassuming grey until the light hits them!!

Sue’s horse Stix has been booted by us for many years now. Stix competes in eventing and show jumping and has brought home a whole stack of ribbons over the years.

Stix used to be shod, and have significant hoof issues well into his barefoot journey but once Sue took over his hoof care by trimming his feet weekly, and moved away from a rye grass based pasture his feet look amazing and he’s able to do his job comfortably.

Once the ARC rules around hoof boots were changed it completed the set up and made it possible for Stix to compete anywhere confidently.

Sue and Stix are a great example of balancing competition with the barefoot lifestyle- because it’s not just about “not wearing shoes”.

Hoof boots are an integral part of riding barefoot horses- they’re a foundational piece of tack along with the saddle and bridle.

There are a lot of sore footed horses and ponies out there right now because the of the green grass. If you give them comfy boots, you can still exercise them!

Just one of the ways to set up the straps on the Pioneer hoof boot.

There are 3 straps on both sides, and they can be set up in a variety of configurations, depending on the needs of the horse.

This is the "default" that works most of the time;

🥕 The short strap in the middle (called the anchor strap), goes to the middle mushroom screw

🥕 The top long strap goes to the top mushroom screw

🥕The bottom long strap goes to the bottom mushroom screw

Tom has worked with horses’ feet for over 20 years, with extensive experience in both remedial and barefoot hoof care. With a background in prosthetics and orthotics, he combined his knowledge of biomechanics, hoof function and product design to develop the Pioneer Sports Hoof Boot.

Together, Jen and Tom will take a closer look at the boots, how they work, what makes their self-adjusting design different and how to find the right fit for your horse. There will also be an opportunity to ask questions.
