Happy first day of winter, to all who celebrate…

Mentally, we’re still soaking up the warm sunshine on our coastal holiday. Physically? Forced to walk in sleeting rain while a storm front with 135km winds bears down on us 🥲😅

True or false, views are 100% more beautiful when you get to share them with a very good dog?

Nhill to Sellicks Beach 🚗 let’s wrap day two!

The three of us had a squeezy night’s sleep together in a queen bed, and enjoyed one last adventure around the lake before getting on the road (I got to spy on a wallaby from a hide!). After a quick stop in Bordertown yielded good coffee for the pawrents and a dog park to stretch my legs, it was on to our final destination, Sellicks Beach.

Sellicks Beach is part of the Kaurna Meyunna Yerta (Kaurna Country), which extends across the Adelaide Plains. Ngadlu tampinthi yalaka ngadlu Kaurna yartangka inparrinthi (we acknowledge we are walking on Kaurna country) ❤️

We’re staying at a lovely right on the beach, which we immediately took advantage of and went for a big explore along the canyon and then down to the beach (if you like to lick rocks, which imo is a very normal and regular thing to do, this is the beach for you!). The pawrents complained about all the stairs, but being the Fit King that I am, I kept them at a blistering pace 😉 they’ll thank me later.

This is home for the next few weeks, and tomorrow Greyma will fly down to join us, so keep an eye on stories to see what we get up to! And as always, drop any questions into the comments.

🚗 G’day from Nhill! Today we are on the lands and waters of the Wotjobaluk, Jaadwa, Jadawadjali, Wergaia and Jupagalk Nations; the name of this town, located on the Victorian side of the South Australian border, is said to roughly translate to morning mist over water in Wergaia language.

A relatively short day on the road, just 336kms (travelling in ultimate comfort thanks to ). We spotted green lakes, pink lakes, and even the Wimmera river - and finished the drive at Nhill lake for a gorgeous walk with abundant birdlife.

I am a seasoned traveller now, after lots of excitement at the start of the drive I eventually settled in for a nap, when we arrived I explored the local area like a very brave lad, and then checked into our (shout out to our hosts for the treato to occupy my pawrents!) to enjoy a collagen chew followed by spying on the street. Since the pawrents bought my clean blankies I’ve set up camp on the couch for a sleep. What a greyt day!

😴 Goodnight frens, see you all tomorrow for an update from our destination.
