With AQIS (Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service) vet on staff, we are able to examine pets destined for export overseas. Malvern Vet also also offers pet grooming services - with several highly qualified and talented dog groomers on staff. Just like people, our pets’ health needs change as they age. 🩺 Conditions like arthritis, dental disease, kidney disease, and thyroid problems are more common in older pets, and many develop gradually with subtle early signs that are easy to miss.

That’s why we recommend senior pets come in for a check-up every six months rather than once a year. Regular check-ups allow us to pick up changes early, when they’re easier to manage, and keep your pet comfortable and happy for as long as possible. 📅

Anaphylaxis is a severe, life-threatening allergic reaction that can occur in pets, most commonly after an insect sting, medication, or a vaccine. ⚠️ It comes on very quickly, usually within minutes to an hour.

Signs to watch for include sudden vomiting or diarrhoea, collapse, difficulty breathing, a swollen face or hives, pale gums, and extreme weakness.

🚨 Anaphylaxis is a true emergency, so if you suspect your pet is having a reaction, contact our clinic or your nearest emergency animal hospital immediately.

No one likes waiting. At your next visit, let us know if you’d like to use the GapOnly® payment service to access your pet insurance benefit right away (for eligible expenses). Your claim will be assessed in around 5 minutes while you’re in the clinic, and once approved, you simply pay the gap (which is the difference between the invoice and the eligible claim benefit under your pet insurance policy) and go!
