Exhibitor and Breeder of black/blue/white/cream standard poodles in conformation and obedience. Melbourne, Australia.

I have owned Standard poodles since 2000 and participated in my first confomation show in 2002. In that time, I have handled 8 Standards and 1 Miniature to their Champion titles. Of these, three were my own prefix, one going on to his Grand Champion title. Capanash poodles also compete successfully in obedience (mostly with Marlene handling).I have been involved with Poodle Club Of Victoria committee (Vice president, committee, puppy officer, webmaster, point score secretary). During the week, I am a secondary Science/Maths teacher. Having a Bachelor of Science degree has re-enforced the need for health testing when breeding, with health and good temperament being of the utmost importance.We believe in letting poodles be dogs so none of ours are kenneled and all sleep in the house. They are also allowed to run and play together (yes even the show dogs!). We have an 85 acre property that the poodles have a great time exploring.

What do you do when having a break from showing? Dog Sports! Marlene & Stella ventured off to their first ever Tricks Trial and had so much fun. Stella showed her versatility and came home with 3/3 Qualifying scores, 52.8, 57, 59.4 (60pts is max.score) a 2nd place in the ring. and her first TK.S title(pending DogsVic). She will soon be Grand Ch. Capanash Stars Dark Desire SPRD.N RA. TK.S. Good effort for a silly poodle soon to turn 3 yrs of age.

Ooopppsss… we forgot to post a photo of Stella with her ribbons a few weeks ago. 2x State Bred in Group.

We had a GRAND day out at the show yesterday with Stella gaining her final points needed for her Grand Champion title! She ended up on exactly 1000 points! She also won a pretty sash for Best State Bred in group.
Thank you to her fan club for their support. Thank you to the people who helped make this special litter happen.
At 2 years and 8 months we are excited to see what she achieves next.
Special note that the show has a pyjama theme and I don’t usually wear pj pants to handle… but they were very comfy and the trend could stick 😉

Miss Stella winning Runner Up BEST IN GROUP and Australian Bred In Group at Ladies Kennel Association under Mr Ray Barter (NSW) (Group Entry : 81)

Stella had a successful day showing at KCC Park, 2 shows held by Ladies Kennel Association. 2 x BOB's a lovely Runner up Best in Group (Group 2nd) and Australian bred in Group at the am show. The beautiful sashes were our favourite colours, even had poodles on one. She earned her roast chicken dinner and is now relaxing on the couch after her bath.

After a 6 month break, Jarvis (Stella’s brother) had a turn playing show dog. 3x Best of Breed and an amazing BEST IN GROUP!!! It was a Hawaiian themed show.

Only one show for Miss Stella, 8pt BOB. We are so proud to showcase her versatility and appreciate the Twilight Canine Country Club for offering a Working Sweepstakes class for dogs holding both a Conformation title and a Sporting title in which Stella placed 2nd out of an entry of 13.

Stella won 4x Best of Breed over the weekend and converted one to a RU BEST IN GROUP. Thank you to Mr G Maudlen (SA).
It was a lovely weekend shared with our dog show friends.
