🎬 THAT’S A WRAP ON 2025! ✂️🐶

We have officially hung up the clippers, put down the scissors, and swept up the last fluff-ball of the year!

To our absolute favorite clients (the dogs, obviously 🐾) thank you for all the kisses and tail wags. And to their personal assistants, chauffeurs, and treat-dispensers (that’s you, the owners 😉) thank you for trusting us with your best friends this year. You guys are amazing.

🎄 What a Christmas season it has been!
We’ve had a revolving door of special guests, some welcomed, some… questionable. A massive shoutout to the chaos crew that visited the salon:
🎅 The Big Red Guy himself.
🍪 The Gingerbread Men
🧝‍♂️ The Elf and his absolute army on their respective shelves.
💚 The Big Grumpy One... (and to clarify, we mean The Grinch, NOT Lee! 🤣).
👹 Gizmo and his unfortunate offspring.
🎤 Legends like David Attenborough & The Irwins.
🧝🏻 And of course, the OG... Buddy the Elf!

We are wishing everyone a safe, relaxing, and fur-filled Christmas break. Here’s hoping Santa has calmed down on the Baileys by the big day! 🥃🎅🥴

🎅 STAFF ANNOUNCEMENT 🎅

We recently did a solid for the Big Man and groomed the reindeer after their messy pre-Christmas bootcamp. 🦌🛁
To repay the favor, Santa insisted on covering a grooming shift for the day. He wanted to "get his hands dirty."

The verdict?
Honestly... he was terrible. 😬 Zero scissor skills. We had to confiscate the clippers before he gave a Cavoodle a mohawk!! We decided his talents were better suited to Front of House, so we switched him to Cuddles & Photos with the pooches. Much better result! 📸🐶

THE GOOD NEWS:
Since he’s technically only busy one night a year, he’s at a loose end for the evening. He’s crashing with us and will be back in the salon TOMORROW for more photos!

Like all rock stars, he has a strict backstage rider. We thought he was going to ask for milk to dunk his cookies in... Nope. He wants Baileys. And lots of it. 🥃😳

The Gingerbread Invasion Continues! 🍪❄️

We thought we had successfully evicted our infestation of naughty Gingerbread Men... but apparently, these guys are territorial. They’re sticking around like possums in a roof! 🤣

They decided to wreak havoc on our air conditioning unit today. But honestly? On a sizzling 38°C day, we aren't even mad about it! They jammed the dial to "Arctic Blast," so the pups (and our groomers) are keeping extra cool while the pavement melts outside. 🥵💨

Not satisfied with just messing with the climate control, they decided to hijack our latest photoshoot, too. They inadvertently made it look nice and Christmassy 🎄🎁🎄

📸 STOP THE PRESS: The "Diva" spotted the Paparazzi... 🦌💅

​We thought we were finished with the reindeer crew, but then Rudolph saw our Pooch Pics studio setup in the corner... and slammed on the brakes. 🛑

​There was absolutely no way he was going to leave without getting his solo cover shot. But, like a true rockstar, he refused to step in front of the lens until he was "camera ready."

​He demanded the full bespoke package to ensure he didn't look washed out under the studio lights:
​✨ The Volume Lift: Because flat fur doesn't pop on Instagram.
​🛁 Deep Conditioning: For that high-gloss coat shine.
​📸 The "Blue Steel" Pose: Practiced to perfection.

​He’s finally preened, polished, and ready for his close-up (and the big flight, of course).

⚠️ WEIRD DAY AT THE SALON ALERT ⚠️

You are NOT going to believe who just walked out of our grooming tubs.
We had a walk-in appointment from a VERY famous CEO (big guy, loves red suits 🎅). We don't normally take walk-ins but who are we to say no... He said his team just finished a grueling bootcamp and they were looking a bit rough around the edges before their big global tour next week.

So, we rolled up our sleeves and tackled a whole herd of 9 reindeer! 🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌🦌

Honestly? Donner and Blitzen were surprisingly well-behaved in the bath. Rudolph was a bit of a diva about his nose getting wet. 🔴🛁

After being impressed by the grooms, the big guy said he might have a couple of hours spare to help with some pics later in the week 🎁🎉

After a manic few days with some welcomed and unwelcomed visitors we have had a lovely festive time at the Ridge. Time to take some uninterrupted Christmas pooch pics.

Crikey we had a hell of a night here at the Ridge trying to catch these little blighters. Our cute salon surprise Mogwai turned into full-blown GREMLINS! 👹

They were wreaking absolute havoc. We’re talking traps set for our unsuspecting clients, shampoo bottles flying, and hair dryers spinning out of control. It was total chaos! They even cut our NBN connection 😱

We had to call in the experts to wrangle the beasts after they started interfering with the pooch pic. It was a proper wrestle, let me tell you—absolute danger, danger!

But... we got ‘em! 📦

After the madness of the last couple of weeks, the salon is finally de-gremlin-ed. And the reward? We finally captured these beautiful, uninterrupted Christmas doggy photos. 📸✨

Honestly, seeing these angelic faces is the massive relief we needed. No traps, no gremlins, just pure festive cuteness.

🦴 WE MIGHT HAVE BITTEN OFF MORE THAN WE CAN CHEW.. 😳

So the sweet, scruffy stray we took in last night that looked like it had been dragged through a hedge backwards, had a nice, warm, soapy bath 🛁 and was tucked in for the night gave us an early Christmas present this morning! 🎁

We came in this morning to open the salon and... well... there were more of them. It seems our guest gave birth to "fur-babies" overnight. How lovely 😍

We were totally stumped, so we called in a local wildlife expert. You might know him, let’s just call him Dave. Lovely older gentleman, wears a lot of linen shirts? He spent about 20 minutes just whispering at the dog narrating its movements to us. It was very soothing. 🎙️

His diagnosis?
Apparently we have accidentally rescued a rare Dog ❌ Mogwai.

We have absolutely zero experience with this breed but being the animal lovers we are we are thrilled to take on the challenge. We’ve checked our usual grooming manuals and nothing!
We might just put them to bed with a bowl of biscuits to snack on if they got hungry during the night... 🍗🕛

Honestly, they are so cute and fluffy we’re just going to wing it. They seem a bit mischievous, but hey, what’s the worst that can happen? 👹

Does anyone have experience with this breed? Drop your advice below! We feel like there are some specific rules we’re missing... 👇

🎄 LOOK WHO SCRATCHED AT OUR DOOR! 🎄

​We had a surprise visitor today! This little guy was shivering outside, looking a bit scruffy and absolutely starving. Since it’s the season of giving, we obviously had to help him out. ❤️

​We brought him in and gave him a really good soak in the tub to get him clean 🛁. Then, we treated him to a massive feast (he still looks hungry so we have loaded the crate up with food so he won't go hungry throughout the night) 🍗 We have posted his pic online to try and track down the owner and will pop to the vets tomorrow to check if he has a microchip.
