Meet Pumpalumps (Pumps) for short .
He is 5 1/2 yrs old ,He is a Cashmere mini lop .He has been my client for over 5 years and gets his hair done every 10-12 weeks .
Poor little Pumps is looking for a home .A couple of months ago Pumps lost his brother who had health issues ,who he had lived lovingly and deeply bonded to for his entire life, he never ever fought with his brother and due to life changes and Pumps being lonely he is in need of a new family . ideally he’s looking for a new bunny friend or a home with buns .
Strictly indoors, with an experienced bunny owning family and someone who either knows how to trim his hair or is willing to have him groomed every 10-12 weeks .
He has had no health issues ever and is desexed,I’m not sure if he’s up to date with vaccinations this year.
He is located in Hawthorne,Victoria .

Thank you Bunny humans .Today was an easy day ,the kind I love but don’t come by all that often . I had 3 of my sweetest clients ,all 3 made my job easy .Their fur had been so well maintained or on schedule that they didn’t have to leave here naked . No groomer wants to shave down an animal ,it’s not the kind of groom you walk away from feeling proud . Some owners opt for shaving on a regular basis which is different ,it’s not because it’s the only option due to matting . When asked to shave down l will ‘IF’ they ability to keep them warm and cozy day and night, because their fluff is their only protection , but I love nothing more than leaving a nice little layer of fluff . I have to say a huge majority of my clients these days have dedicated fluffy bun owners ..Thank you ,it’s you that keep me enjoying my job .
I know times are tough ,life is expensive and I absolutely encourage people to get hands on with their fluffs , a little chop to shorten the coat every 4 weeks and then a brush can extend the times between needing professional grooming and as you gain experience you get better at it . The bunnies don’t know if their hair cut looks ridiculous as long as they are loved on . It’s very rare that my grooming kit gets brought into my home ,my own kids get terrible 1am haircuts with kitchen scissors 🤣70% of the time .
P.s how ridiculous is my Angora friend ,he was just having a snooze whilst I did my thing 🥰

Anyone in Taylors Lake

HELP NEEDED TO CATCH BUN IN TAYLORS LAKES.
Nicole has located a stray nethie dwarf, fawn seal point, in the Carpark of Peak Gym. Address is 15 Melton Hwy, Taylors Lakes VIC 3038. Closest access to where she is in the carpark is Village Ave. Gym staff aware.
She have attached a photo of where she last saw him/her.
At one point she hid in the area where the old pool pumps are stored (behind gate) and it was too hard to reach her in there with all the junk. But she is back snacking where I originally saw her. Under a leafy bush. LIKELY NEED SOME PET FENCES TO SECTION OFF AROUND AREA WHERE BUN IS. Someone to support the fences, then someone to step in to secure bun. Once caught can come to the Orphanage.
Hopefully someone can catch her today. If you need Nicole's phone number, please ring Judi at the Orphanage on 9751 1229.

WEATHER ALERT FOR VICTORIA

The next few days will be pretty scary and unsettling for all of us in Victoria. Having animals makes everything a bit more difficult. Make sure you have, and know your fire plan ( even Dr Gerry, who lives in a Port Melbourne apartment has a fire plan for her humans and 9 bunnies….).

If you need to evacuate with your rabbits , birds or other pets and you do not have a place planned to evacuate to, or cannot get there safely, The Rabbit Doctors clinic will look after you. If you are coming to us please try and get a message to the clinic - phone or multichat ( Gerry will keep a closer eye on multichat out of hours till the danger resides..).

Stay safe everyone- keep cool and hydrated and in touch with each other.

It’s been one of those months .. quite a few buns will be feeling a whole lot better , I can’t imagine the relief they must feel .. If you hear of anyone wanting a Cashmere, Angora or Jersey bunny please let them know that Whilst they are gorgeous they do require dedicated owners with time and the financial means to meet their grooming requirements , they need a minimum of 4 clips a years , around every 10-12 weeks and unless you can do this yourself then it is an ongoing cost for as long as they live . They are not a pet for the faint hearted .
