Fabricated toe extension applied to this thoroughbred yearling using a St Croix Concorde.

This filly had a sequestrum removed from her pedal bone as a younger horse and due to prolonged box rest, accompanied with lack of weight bearing. It has caused her Deep Digital Flexor Tendon to tighten, resulting in a club foot. With veterinary guidance, we believed the toe extension would be the most appropriate option. It will help supply leverage to the front portion of her foot, trying to limit any further contraction to the DDFT and forcing her heels down. Which hopefully over time will help limit the severity of the club foot 🤞🏻⚒️🔥

Being an anaerobic bacteria, it thrives without oxygen. So the best remedy is to resect out the affected area and then treat with a coppersulphate based solution ⚒️
