Clean-Air canisters don't last forever, and neither does their protection ⏱️

Activated charcoal soaks up waste anaesthetic gas, but only until it's full. After that, exhaled gas passes straight through and into your clinic air. So when you swap the canister matters. Replace a refillable canister after 12-15 hours of use, or when it reaches the weight limit printed on the label.

Why bother?
✅ Less waste anaesthetic gas for your team to breathe in. It's a known occupational hazard, and NIOSH recommends keeping halogenated agent exposure under 2 ppm
✅ Easier to meet your WHS obligations
✅ Your scavenging setup keeps doing its job

Let's be honest, in a busy clinic nobody's watching the clock. Jot down usage each time and weigh your canisters regularly, so no one has to guess.

Good time to stock up: the UniVet™ Clean-Air Consumables Bundle (Refillable Canister + 200g Charcoal Refill) is just $15 ex GST. Keep a spare on the shelf and a swap never has to wait.

When selecting an autoclave, the right choice depends on your load requirements, workflow and budget, not simply on choosing the highest specification.

Our new W&H Lyla S Class and Lara B Class autoclaves provide two options for veterinary practices with different sterilisation needs.

We've put together a quick comparison to help explain the key differences and where each may fit within a clinic.

Need help determining which option is right for your practice? Send us a message or call 1300 785 405 📞

Veterinary Nurse & Technologist Awareness Week 🐾

This week we're celebrating the vet nurses and technologists who are such a huge part of the veterinary industry; people we’re lucky enough to work alongside every day!

This year’s theme of VNCA Vet Nurse & Technologist Awareness week is Everyday Heroes: Strength, Skill & Heart in Action, with a different focus each day:

Monday: Healing Hands 🔬

Tuesday: Diagnostic Detectives 🔎

Wednesday: Surgical Super Squad 🩺

Thursday: Guardians of Compassion 💙

Friday: Multitasking Marvels ⭐

From patient care and diagnostics to surgery, anaesthesia and everything in between, there’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes to keep a veterinary practice running. Our team here at DLC see the knowledge, skill and care that vet nurses and technologists bring to their teams daily and we’re always amazed by the work you do.

Want to get involved? Follow along with Veterinary Nurses Council of Australia Inc. (VNCA) , share your own stories and use and to celebrate the people who make such a difference.
