One major risk is damage to fences, which can allow frightened pets to escape.

Blowing debris is another hazard that can cause injuries to outdoor pets.

Additionally, a powerful gust of wind can carry a small pet a significant distance.

Follow these tips to keep your pet safe during windy weather:

✔️Check fences regularly, especially after storms.
✔️Keep gates locked to prevent escapes.
✔️Bring pets inside during storms.
✔️If your pet must be outside, supervise them closely.
✔️Always use a leash when walking your dog to keep them secure.
