Last week, 25 members of our Agronomy and on-farm sales team met in Albury and North East Victoria for four days of professional development, supplier insights, and, importantly, learning in the field.
The team visited Mitta Dairies to learn more about irrigated dairy pasture systems, feed programs, soil nutrition, and farm management before heading to Romans Ag to explore the challenges of running a dryland dairy operation.
We also visited Lachie Snow’s beef trading business and our AG Warehouse Demo Site, where the team could see firsthand how different product varieties are performing across our supplier partners.
There was plenty of technical learning too, including a keynote from Tom Price from the Foundation for Arable Research on crop rotations and fungicide options, along with presentations from a number of our key suppliers including Terragen, Active Agri, Nufarm, Victorian Chemicals, Pioneer Seeds, DLF Seeds, HSR Seeds and Barenbrug.
And because you can’t spend four days in North East Victoria without enjoying a little of the local hospitality, the team also enjoyed lunch at the iconic Dederang Pub and some friendly competition at the golf simulator!
It was a great opportunity to share ideas, learn from farmers, suppliers and each other, and bring new knowledge back to the farms and customers we work with every day.
