Step into propagation with Kelly and learn the art of pricking out seedlings. 🌱 Want the full lowdown on sowing and transplanting tomatoes? Hit the link in our bio for the complete guide – it’s super detailed for super delicious tommies! 🍅
Here’s the gist for pricking out:
1. Give your new pots a big drink of water before planting – this keeps the soil loose and comfy for your seedlings.
2. Use a chopstick (or similar) to poke a nice deep hole so roots and stem have room to settle in.
3. Plant your toms nice and deep, right up to the leaves – they actually love it.
4. Keep up with regular watering, but let the extra water drain off – think “hydrated, not soggy.”
Timing-wise: sowing to pricking out is about 3–4 weeks, and from sowing to nursery-ready takes about 8 weeks.
