Milly's Search, Trap and Reunite - Melbourne - Victoria were amazing when Kevin was missing !!
Ran completely by volunteers please help if you can !

🏡🩷 KEVIN IS HOME SAFE!

Little Pug Kevin took the opportunity to take himself for a walk on the 14th August 2026 in Ferntree Gully, Victoria. 🐾

After multiple sightings on the first day, there was suddenly nothing. 💔

The amazing local community and PUG RESCUE & ADOPTION VICTORIA INC. community rallied behind Kevin, searching, distributing flyers and letterbox drops, flying drones and sharing posts.

❤️ Milly’s Search, Trap & Reunite Melbourne Victoria participated on the ground search, provided a camera and thermal monocular, and supported Kevin’s family every step of the way.

Then on 20th August, gentleman named Ian called with the news Kevin had been sighted on a mostly vacant property the day before.

Mandy and Sean dropped everything and raced there. With patience and by following advice, Kevin finally came to his dad. 🥹❤️

📣 THE LETTERBOX DROP WAS THE REASON KEVIN WAS SIGHTED.

The neighbour Ian wasn’t on social media. Thankfully, an amazing local search volunteer Mark had dropped a flyer into his letterbox.

Without that flyer, Kevin may still be missing.

Today we also had a visit at Marks, who had dropped the flyers around Montalto Drive. Without that flyer and the neighbours sighting, we would never have found Kevvy!
We’re so incredibly grateful to everyone who helped spread the word and kept an eye out. ❤️

Kevin and I had the most special visit with the beautiful local kinder children who had so lovingly sent him their wonderful drawings. ❤️

They were absolutely thrilled to meet him in person and proudly presented him with the special pictures they had drawn just for him. Their little faces lit up the moment we arrived, and they had so many wonderful questions to ask!

It was such a precious and heartwarming moment to see their excitement, kindness and beautiful little personalities shine. ❤️

“Pick me up please!” Pru seems to say…
As she scratches at the couch in her own special way!
She’s tiny and cheeky, with plenty to say…
One little paw scratch means “Pick me up today!” 😂🐾

❤️But Pru’s story began before she arrived…
When her beautiful Mum was rescued and survived.
Saved from a pound, pregnant and scared..,
She came into rescue because someone cared…

Then little Pru was born into our care..
A tiny girl with a future to share... 🐾
But Pru hardly grew, and we knew something was wrong…
So we searched for the reason she wasn’t growing strong….

A liver shunt was found, and we knew what to do…
We’d give this little girl every chance to pull through…
There were vets, tests, treatment and bills along the way…
But rescue means fighting for them every day….
And look at her now, our little Miss Pru..
She’s cheeky and happy and knows what to do! 😂

And here’s something you might not know…

Kevin BRING KEVIN HOME is Pru’s brother, yes, it’s true! 🐾❤️
Can you see the resemblance between these two?
Kevin was lost for a whole week…
And our incredible community went out to seek. 💔

Posts were shared and people came through..,
Searching and watching until Kevin came home too..
THAT is the power of our rescue crew… 👏🏻💙

We’re not just a rescue we’re a community….
A HUGE community, with incredible unity…. 🐾
Someone will foster, someone will drive…
Someone will donate to help them survive…
Someone volunteers, someone will share..
Someone simply shows that they care... ❤️

Kevin has settled back in with no worries. He’s back to his normal routine of food and naps, sleeping peacefully in his warm bed, snuggled under his cosy blanket. ❤️

A flyer in a letterbox is what ultimately brought our beautiful Kevvy home to us. ❤️

If a beautiful stranger named Mark hadn’t picked up the flyers from our front doorstep and taken it upon himself to put them up around the streets of Carrington Estate, we may never have found our Kevin.

We will forever be grateful to Mark for taking the time to help a family he didn’t even know. One small act of kindness changed everything and brought our boy back home to us. 🐾❤️

🐾 WHY FLYERS AND LETTERBOX DROPS MATTER WHEN A PET GOES MISSING 🐾

When a beloved pet goes missing, social media alone is not enough ❌

Not everyone is online, not everyone sees every post and not everyone belongs to a lost pet group. Your post can disappear within hours in social media feeds.

✅ That’s why flyers and letterbox drops are essential, especially if your pet has been missing for 24 hours 📄🏠

The sooner people know your pet is missing, the sooner you have an extra set of eyes keeping a look out for them.

👀 FLYERS AND LETTERBOX DROPS MAKE PEOPLE LOOK DIFFERENTLY!!

Someone may have already seen your pet, didn’t take much notice or think much of it. This happens a lot!

Each flyer and Letterbox drop tells people:

They also help identify movement, as pets can travel well beyond the area where they disappeared.

I’m home, I’m safe, I’m back with my crew..
And now I’ve got one little favour to ask of you! 🥹🐾

My posters and flyers helped spread the word…
They told my story so I could be heard….❤️

But now that I’m home and my adventure is through…
There’s another little job for my community to do! 🥰

If you’re out and about around Ferntree Gully & Lysterfield town…
And you spot one of my posters still hanging around…

Because Kevin is HOME and no more searching is needed out there! 🏡❤️🐶

This was one of my favourite messages we received from a local kindergarden .. we will definately be doing a visit with Kevin next week !

Hi Mandy, First off, I just want to let you know that I every part of me hopes that Kevin is safe and will be reunited with you soon. I am a teacher at a local Kindergarten and while we were on a walk with my class of 3 and 4 years old, we happened to see the posters for Kevin.
The children have really been anxiously questioning Kevin's wellbeing and have honestly been a bit shaken by this. We have been talking and theorising about what could have happened. It is a side that I have never seen before in them and I feel like I need to let you know that there 27 children hoping for Kevin's safe return to you. They have been drawing pictures and asking me to write letters to Kevin. Please know that these children have been spreading the word to their families and the word is definitely out. Everyone in our kinder community will be looking out for Kevin.

After 7 days missing, a vet check up adventure is a good stop… 🐾🩺
Mum and Dad came with me this time, to hold my paw and make sure I didn’t wander off the lot! 😂❤️

After my BIG adventure, today was the day…
Mum and Dad took me to Tooronga Veterinary Hospital on our way! 🐾

To see Dr Andrew, who kindly made time…
To check this little miracle boy was doing just fine! 🥹❤️
He checked me from my head to my toes,
And even had a good look at my little nose! 😂🐶

Apart from some scratches on my ears from my travels afar…
Dr Andrew says I’m PAWFECT, what a superstar! 🥰🐾

Seven days missing, out roaming around…
But somehow my family and community found…
A way to keep searching, never give in..,
Until finally someone spotted me and called to bring me in! ❤️

Now I’m home with my Mum, Dad and family I adore..,
Getting cuddles and treats and asking for more! 😂🏡
