🐾Saying Goodbye to Keesha 🌈

"A difficult day was made much easier by the caring team at Hold My Paws. The compassion and support shown by Dr Laurel during this heartbreaking time being able to say goodbye to our beautiful blue eyed girl Keesha in the comfort of our home surrounded by all her favourite things made a world of difference. The entire process was peaceful and patient. There was no rush, everything was calm. All arrangements were made for us, beautiful paw prints of our girl and her fur to keep. We received a beautiful card in following weeks, phone calls to check in on us to see how we were coping. Alex was lovely who brought Keesha home to us so she could rest peacefully at home. Highly recommend. Thank you to the team at Hold My Paws"

Thank you for trusting us with Keesha’s goodbye. To witness the love surrounding such a beautiful blue-eyed girl, and to help create a calm and gentle farewell is a privilege we never take lightly.

Thank you for your kind words and for allowing us to care for your girl with the dignity and compassion she deserved.

With care and compassion,
Dr. Laurel, Alex and the Hold My Paws team. ♥

Monitoring Health Changes: Noticing the Subtle Signs 👀🐾

Our pets cannot tell us when something feels different - but their bodies often give us quiet clues.

Keeping an eye on changes in weight, appetite, water intake, or bathroom habits can help you notice when your pet may need extra support. Sudden weight loss or gain, drinking much more or less than usual, changes in eating patterns, or differences in toileting can all be important signals.

Early awareness allows for gentle conversations with your veterinarian and helps ensure your pet remains as comfortable and supported as possible.

Trust your instincts - you know your pet better than anyone. 💛

💐Saying Goodbye to Cosmo🌈

"From the very first interaction, Laurel showed genuine compassion and care. She communicated with me throughout the day, providing reassurance and kindness. When she arrived, her calm and gentle presence immediately put us at ease. She allowed Cosmo to remain in his favourite spot on the couch, ensuring he was comfortable and surrounded by familiarity.

Laurel took the time to gently walk us through the process, explaining everything with empathy and patience and gave us the space to say goodbye in our own time.

What was one of the hardest moments of our lives was made so much more bearable because of Laurel. I will always be grateful for the care, compassion, and humanity she showed us and our boy"

We are so honoured to have walked alongside Cosmo and his family in their final chapter together. Cosmo received every bit of the dignity, peace, and tenderness he was worthy of. Thank you, Alexandra for your trust.

At Hold My Paws, we're here to support you through every step of this journey. Because love is worth remembering, always. 🐈

If you need a moment to cry, take it. If you need to step outside and breathe, do that too. There is no right way to move through this, and nothing you need to perform.

The time you spend simply being present with your pet in those final hours is not small or insignificant. For many families, it becomes one of the things they are most grateful for afterwards - that they slowed down, and were really there. 🌿

As pets age or face illness, it can be an incredibly difficult time to know what they're truly feeling day to day.

Sometimes changes in our pets happen so gradually that they can be difficult for us to notice day to day.

That’s why our free Quality of Life Questionnaire is designed to help families track small changes over time in, comfort, mobility, appetite, happiness, and overall wellbeing.

What feels “normal” can slowly shift, and having a gentle check-in tool can help provide clarity during uncertain moments.

We offer this resource free of charge because we believe pet families deserve compassionate support at every stage of their companion’s journey. 🤍

Visit our website anytime to access the questionnaire.

♥ Saying Goodbye to Osker 🐈

"...Laurel was absolutely incredible in guiding us through the difficult decision to let our fur baby go. She made a very sad experience as calm, peaceful and gentle as we could have hoped for. We are deeply grateful for Laurel's help. Letting our cat go gently at home surrounded by her family was the best gift we could give her at the end of her life. Laurel and Alex took such great care of us and our pet from the initial phone call to getting her ashes back home. Thank you so both from the bottom of our hearts."

🐈🐾 In April, Dr Laurel, Nurse Alex and the Hold My Paws team attended Royal Canin's Melbourne Feline Roadshow at Melbourne Zoo.

An evening spent learning more about Chronic Kidney Disease and Osteoarthritis in cats - two conditions that quietly impact so many of the patients we care for.

At Hold My Paws, we’re committed to continually educating ourselves, deepening our understanding, so we can better support not only our patients, but the families walking alongside them through every stage of life.

Comfort at Home: Creating a Senior-Friendly Space 🐾

As our pets grow older, comfort becomes one of the greatest gifts we can offer them.

Small changes at home can make a big difference - soft memory-foam beds to ease tired joints, non-slip rugs to prevent slipping, and ramps or low steps to help them reach their favourite places with confidence.

Think of it as creating their own gentle sanctuary - a space where movement feels easier, rest comes naturally, and they feel safe, supported, and close to you. 💛

♥ Saying goodbye to Bronson ♥💐

"Thank you for helping me say goodbye to my beautiful boy, Bronson, in the comfort of his home, where he felt safe, loved, and at peace. Giving him one last perfect day filled with walks, cuddles, family, and our sunset ritual means everything to me.

I rescued Bronson in March 2023 after a difficult start to life. He was so scared at first, but it didn’t take long for his gentle, loving nature to shine through. He learned to trust, to play, and to love, and he gave that love so freely to everyone around him...
..He was sweet and patient with my cats, cheeky with his toys, and full of personality, singing along, showing off his favourites, and always asking for belly rubs...
.The way he walked, earned him the nickname "Potitus" - my little b***y in Spanish. He had a special talent for destroying toys, including his Gumby toy, which didn't stand a chance more than once, his Grandma dubbed him "Potitus Gumbinator", a title he wore proudly...
..Despite being diagnosed with lymphoma, Bronson showed incredible strength. Through treatments and hospital stays, he remained happy, gentle, and full of love, always winning over everyone he met.....
..When his cancer returned, I fought for more time with him, but in the end, I made the hardest decision to let him go peacefully, surrounded by love.
.Bronson was only meant to be a foster, but he became my baby boy—my heart. In just three years, he changed my life forever..
..Thank you for your compassion and kindness during such a difficult goodbye. It brought comfort in a moment that felt impossible.Even though he’s gone, the life we shared, the lessons he gave me, and the love he left behind will stay with me forever…"

Thank you Daniela for placing your trust to give Bronson the gentle farewell he deserved ♥
