What a fantastic day at Spring Thing! ๐ŸŒธ๐Ÿ

A big thank you to those who joined us at Alex Wilkie Nature Reserve yesterday to celebrate Fatherโ€™s Day and the start of spring at Spring Thing. Families enjoyed guided walks, nature play and crafts, a wildlife show, native plant giveaways, music, face painting, scavenger hunts and Springvale Little Steamers train rides.

It was also a great chance to explore the reserveโ€™s recent upgrades, making it easier for everyone to enjoy while creating more habitat for local wildlife.

Alex Wilkie Nature Reserve is now open every Friday from 9am-3pm and every third Sunday of the month from 10am-5pm. Learn more, greaterdandenong.vic.gov.au/our-environment/open-spaces/alex-wilkie-nature-reserve

Safe and reliable transport infrastructure helps our growing community stay connected to jobs, education and essential services.

We're advocating for key transport improvements across Greater Dandenong, including:

โœ… Removal of the Heatherton Road, Douglas Street roundabout in Noble Park, to be replaced with traffic lights.
โœ… Signalising the Kirkham Road and Frankston-Dandenong Road intersection.

These are few of the projects we are advocating for to improve safety, accessibility and connectivity across our city.

At Noble Park Community Centre, inclusion is more than a message. It is lived every day. Their Gentle Exercise for All Abilities program, led by the wonderful Ron Zammit, brings together people of all ages, cultures, abilities, genders and identities in a supportive space where everyone can participate, connect and belong.

This Wear It Purple Day, participants will proudly wear purple to show their support for creating safe, welcoming and inclusive communities for all. Just as they enthusiastically embraced the popular 80s-themed exercise class (pictured), they'll be coming together once again to celebrate kindness, respect and acceptance.

"Exercise is about much more than movement. It's about connection. Every person who walks into our class deserves to feel welcomed, encouraged and accepted for who they are. That's what our Gentle Exercise community is all about." โ€“ Ron Zammit

At Noble Park Community Centre, everyone belongs. ๐Ÿ’œ
