Saturday 8 August was all about celebrating the wonderful, weird and utterly lovable creatures we call cats! 😻

From the purrs and cuddles to the “I definitely didn’t knock that off the bench” moments, our feline friends have a very special way of making life better. 🐾

Today we’re celebrating all the cats — the lap cats, the zoomers, the professional nappers, the treat thieves and the ones who generously allow US to live in THEIR homes. 😂

Give your kitty an extra cuddle, a favourite treat or simply let them know how much they’re loved. ❤️

With the current threat of Avian Influenza (H5N1) in Australia, we've updated our procedures for receiving sick or injured birds and wildlife to help protect our patients, our team, and our community.

🛑If you have found a sick or injured bird or wildlife, please do not bring it into our clinic.

📞 Please call us before attending, or if you've already arrived, remain in your car and phone us. A member of our team will provide you with instructions on how we can safely assist.

🦠If you suspect avian influenza in birds, contact the Emergency Animal Disease Hotline: 1800 675 888.

These temporary measures allow us to manage wildlife cases safely while continuing to care for all of our patients.

Thank you for your understanding, patience, and for helping us protect both our local wildlife and our community. 🥰

Meet Rosie 🐾💛

Rosie is an 8 month old Groodle and Nurse Abi’s very own fur cousin! She recently visited us for her desexing procedure, but not before getting herself into a little bit of mischief… 😅

Just a few days before surgery, Rosie decided that a muddy adventure was the perfect way to spend her time home alone while her humans were at work. 🌧️🐶🤎

After a good clean up she was ready for her big day. She received many cuddles, and lots of TLC from our team, Rosie sailed through her procedure like the superstar she is. ⭐

Brave girl Eve 💛

This sweet 8 year old Burmese came in for an a**l gland infection today, but you’d never know it from the photos. She was far more interested in her Churu and supervising our clinical notes.

Winter Wobbles: Helping Older Pets Stay Comfortable

As the mornings are getting colder and winter is not far away, lots of senior pets start to feel the cold in their joints. Up to 80% of dogs over the age of 8 and 90% of cats over 12 years have some degree of osteoarthritis and winter often makes stiffness and soreness more noticeable.

You might notice your pet:
❄️ Moving slower or limping
❄️ Hesitating to jump or climb stairs
❄️ Sleeping more or avoiding walks

Simple changes like warm bedding, gentle exercise, joint supplements, and regular vet check‑ups can make a world of difference.
