Simba is one of our lovely patients here at The Corner Vet, and today he’s come in to see Dr Cindy. ❤️

But when Simba isn’t visiting us for a check-up, he has a very special job of his own… he’s a therapy dog! 🐶💙 On his normal days, Simba visits hospitals, bringing comfort, smiles and a little bit of furry love to those who need it most.

We’re always so happy to see you, Simba! Thank you for sharing your beautiful nature with everyone around you. 🥰🐾

Gia and Cleo came in together to have their teeth cleaned. These two sweet girls were the perfect little team in for a dental clean and back home with fresh smiles! 🦷✨

Frankie’s back for his regular 3 monthly a**l gland expression and he’s an absolute pro at it!

Nurses Sam and Jess keep him calm with the biggest comfort hugs while he gets it done.

A few facts about a**l glands:

• Every dog (and cat) has them! A**l glands are two small, pea-sized scent pockets located just inside a mammal's a**s that contain a "special" scent when your pet defecates.

• The scent-marking fluid produced by these glands helps dogs identify each other and mark their territory.

• A**l glands can become impacted however problems are more common in smaller breeds. Signs of potential issues include: scooting, licking, swelling, or a foul/fishy smell.

• Impacted a**l glands can lead to infection or abscess. Manual expression too often can cause irritation.

Meet Daphne 🧡

This gorgeous 7 month old Bordoodle came in for her desexing procedure.

Grandma dropped her off, and both Grandma and Grandpa came to pick her up. How special! Nurse Abi looked after her and Dr Cindy performed the surgery.

Daphne was an absolute star the whole time! She was calm, curious, and very photogenic!
