Rabea's Pet Sitting

Rabea's Pet Sitting I am an experienced pet sitter, having worked with Madpaws for six years and also volunteering with various shelters across Melbourne.

I have a Certificate 2 in Animal Studies and Certificate 3 in Companion Animal Services. I provide pet sitting services. So you could say I am both experienced and qualified to care for your pet/s. My ABN is: 64 86347 9650 and I have public liability insurance. Further I have a current Working With Children Check and a Police Check, as does my husband, because of current and previous work positio

ns. We intend to keep both up to date. We have fostered guinea pigs and dogs over many years as well as owning our own dogs, cats and guinea pigs in the past, including growing up with animals. So you can feel confident that we will love and care for your animals like they are our own. I always provide updates and photos of owner's pets, while the owners are away, to give them peace of mind and so they can relax and enjoy their holiday or time away, while we are caring for their beloved pets. I am also up to date with all COVID vaccinations and have an annual influenza vaccination as well - which is also a requirement for my other role as a carer for the aged. The other things I wanted to add is that apart from pet hosting dogs and guinea pigs (where animals stay in our home), I also offer a pick up/drop off service at $20 for each service for areas close by, a bit more for more distant areas. My pet hosting fees are $38 a night, which has remained the same for the past couple of years, as I am very conscious of the cost of living for my clients. If your dog/s stays more than 7 nights, I give a 10% discount. I only accept two dogs at a time, and if they are from different households and have not met before, there needs to be a meet and greet beforehand to ensure the dogs get along and can stay together. Guinea pig fees are $10 a night (doesn't matter if there are 1, 2 or 3 guinea pigs staying), regardless of how many nights they stay with us. We only have enough room for 3 guinea pigs at any one time, provided they are from the same household. These are kept in a separate room away from the dogs, separated by a baby gate.

This is a post about dog foods. Did you know that Lyka dog food is a high quality dog food and a healthy choice? I know one of my pet sitting clients feeds this to their dogs (you know who you are ) πŸ˜‰

Lyka dog food uses human grade whole foods, made with real Australian sourced meats like wild kangaroo & grass fed beef. It is also designed by certified veterinary nutritionists and meets complete & balanced standards whether you have a puppy, adult dog or a senior.

It is gently cooked at lower temperatures instead of high heat like most kibble out there and this helps to preserve natural proteins & vitamins. Benefits: Better digestion, shinier coats and healthier skin & it is delivered to you pre-portioned & frozen straight to your door.

Lyka does rely on a subscription delivery, just like alternative option Doggy Grub.

Non-subscription dog foods, just as good as Lyka: 5 Hounds, Big Dog Raw and The Nosh Project.

5 Hounds is close to Lyka's quality but uses a freeze dried raw format.
Big Dog Raw gives frozen raw BARF patties which contain meat, bone & veggies, budget friendly for larger dogs. Available at pet stores and vet clinics.
The Nosh Project sells gently cooked fresh meals in stores like Petbarn, however this contains a little more rice and potato compared to Lyka.
Doggy Grub provides fresh meals lightly cooked with whole food ingredients, suited to dogs with sensitive tummies.

All of the above dog foods are better quality than your average supermarket pet food as they use human grade whole ingredients, they do not use chemical preservatives or fillers and are designed by vet nutritionists.

Of course if these options are not in your budget and you want to buy supermarket dog food, some good alternatives are: Optimum and Supercoat, but make you buy age specific ones. So if you have an adult dog, but the adult dog food.
The meat rolls are also a good alternative, especially for senior dogs or a dog with chewing issues.
Ginger actually eats the meat rolls from the supermarket, she is 12 years old and doing well for her age.
Speaking of Ginger, here are a couple of photos of her.
Have a wonderful week everyone 😊 πŸ˜€

On Tuesday evening gorgeous girl, Ginger, came for her long stay with us πŸ₯°πŸ˜
She is with us until September 12th and has settled in quite quickly.
At age 12, she still loves her 20 minute walks each day and like most dogs, gets all excited when we get ready for our walk πŸ˜„
Here are a few photos.

Well, Juneau and Milo have gone home and it has been fun having them.
Today I came home from work and I could have sworn I left my slippers on the floor, on my side of the bed. But where did they go? πŸ€”

I ended up finding them on the bed. πŸ˜†
I was very relieved that my slippers were still in one piece because yes, both Mark and i have lose slippers before from a dog who chewed on them Lol πŸ˜†
Owner told me it was Juneau who put my slippers on our bed.
And Milo, he gave us laughs, too. Usually by trying to get on my lap before his sister.
And I thought Mark eats fast - Milo eats about as fast as he walks! πŸ˜„
Yes, he is quite speedy and it's a good workout taking him for a walk. πŸ’ͺ
Anyway, here are the last of the photos, including my slippers on the bed.

Some more Juneau and Milo photos from this morning and one from this evening, where Milo is eyeing Mark's dinner, or as his mum said - "begging." πŸ˜„

And yes, both dogs had their dinner before we had ours.
The dogs are such lap dogs, except when i'm the only one home, two dogs don't fit on my lap πŸ˜† Yes, they are small dogs, but not THAT small.
On a cold, winter's day, the lap warmers are great πŸ₯°πŸ˜
The selfies of Milo didn't go quite according to plan. But how about the kissing πŸ’‹ photo? 😁

For 4 nights we have Juneau (black and white) and Milo staying with us.
Since Juneau's last stay, she now has a little brother πŸ₯°πŸ˜
They both arrived last night, have settled in fairly quickly and both love a cuddle on the couch.
Juneau LOVES dog videos on You Tube, which we were watching last night.
Milo's favourite past time is barking at possums. Including overnight when the possums land on or run over our roof πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

Hopefully there will be an improvement tonight, but at least tomorrow is Saturday, which means we can sleep in.

Both dogs also enjoy being lap dogs, except my lap is not big enough for them both πŸ˜†

Did you get to see this magnificent sunrise this morning?
Sometimes, it is the little thing in life which can put a smile on your face and make you glad to be alive 😊
I will share the photos i took.
Hope you all have a wonderful week πŸ˜„
