LeLe is an experienced groomer for short-haired rabbits. With experience caring for rabbits daily needs, post-operative care, and grooming needs too. Supporting animal refuges is very important so alongside donating a portion of sales from the website, LeLe also provides free grooming to various shelters large and boutique. As an owner of 3 rabbits of various breeds, temperaments, and health, LeLe can appreciate the time and dedication needed to groom a rabbit. She has a knack for handling even the most wriggliest and nippiest of rabbits and the patience to ensure every rabbit is sufficiently groomed to minimise the amount of fur that can be consumed by the rabbit - a great side effect of regular grooming is the home will be noticeably less fluffy too. Along with her experience and knowledge, LeLe also conducts thorough research through credible sources including consulting with rabbit specialists to further her understanding of rabbits and their health and wellbeing needs. Prior to establishing Fluffy Time aka Fluffy Time Buns, LeLe has had an extensive career in government and insurance.

We were recently contacted by a family who generously offered to donate some supplies after their beloved bunny passed away.
Whenever we receive donations like this, we ask if they could share the cause of death if it is known.
We were heartbroken and shocked when we learned what had happened to their bunny. 😞💔
After spending approximately $4,000 on emergency veterinary care and surgery, their precious bunny sadly did not survive. 😞
The family has given us permission to share their painful experience in the hope that other rabbit parents can learn from it and potentially prevent another tragedy.
They had been feeding their rabbit a pellet mix that contained seeds.
During surgery, the veterinarian removed an undigested seed that had become lodged in the bunny’s small intestine. They hoped she would recover, but unfortunately, she passed away. 💔According to the family, a necropsy later confirmed that the intestinal blockage was caused by an undigested seed.💔💔
What makes this especially upsetting is that many products marketed as “complete & balanced” rabbit food contain seeds, corn, colorful pieces, and other ingredients that may lead rabbit owners to believe they are appropriate.
We cannot blame this family. The package had a picture of a rabbit on it.
It is completely understandable that someone would assume a product specifically marketed for rabbits is safe for rabbits.
A good-quality rabbit pellet should be uniform and should not contain whole seeds, corn kernels, dried peas, nuts, or colorful treat pieces. Rabbits have a specialized herbivorous digestive system designed primarily for a high-fiber diet. Hard, indigestible pieces can contribute to serious gastrointestinal problems, including potentially life-threatening obstruction.
Please be especially cautious with foods containing whole seeds or hard hulls. If you are unsure whether a food or treat is appropriate for your rabbit, speak with a rabbit-savvy veterinarian rather than relying solely on the picture or marketing on the package.
Please help us share this family’s story and educate other bunny parents. Something being sold for rabbits does not automatically mean it is a good or safe choice for them.
Our deepest condolences and gratitude go to this family for allowing us to share such a painful experience in the hope that it may help save another bunny.

Anyone looking for a new bunny book?

S.F.Samuel an Aussie author has just released her 4th book about Blueberry, Barley and Basil 🤩 and I very tickled. Why? Because I’m featured in this book 🤗 I’m so honoured! I’m written about so kindly, it’s a bit far from the truth🤭 my bunny friends don’t enjoy a buffet of dandelions during our spa-w sessions.

Yes I do know the true identities of these three bunnies, two of which were adopted from Rabbit Run-Away Orphanage a few years ago.

I love the illustrations, the illustrator paid a lot of attention in capturing the details of bunnies. Find this on Amazon Books both ebook and printed copies. Check it out and support a local author.

And yeah, there are 3 other books already published too. I reckon they’d make great Christmas presents too.

Met my dear little friend Shoog. I first met Shoog at the shelter before she was adopted. She didn’t like me then, it became hate when I began grooming her on the regular, and now after many reassurances that I love her and that I’m not gonna stop helping her even if she chomps my side b**b, she’s decided I’m acceptable. The chomps are reduced to a soft bite. I still try to finish groom her asap coz her patience isn’t finite, the bites start to become more painful. Soo could sure look less choppy after the groom, yes, but coz I value her comfort and friendship more than her looks, I won’t keep her longer while I snip and brush her to perfection.
She had p**p and oaten seeds stuck under her hoo-hoo this time, and seeds in her butt, so tackling those were my first priority. The seeds were digging into her back.
I recommend either removing the oaten seeds, or feeding other grass hay for long haired friends to prevent this situation. P.s. I once had to shave the cheeks of an angora because there were tens and tens of seeds on either cheek. I wasn’t going to put my friend through the pain of having each seed pulled out. Shave, brush, check with fingers.

Fleas and mites can happen usually because of interactions with other pets. That’s ok. There’s a lot of time and cleaning up afterwards that is involved though and need to reschedule remainder of appointments for the day, so I charge for these things #. If you are aware your pet has fleas/lice please treat them before the appointment. We may need to reschedule, or if you want me to remove the dead critters in their fur after the flea/lice treatment I can do that for an added fee.
Some bunnies experience excessive dandruff due to diet, skin issues, or fur mites. I need to take additional time cleaning and changing my gear after these appointments so I charge extra for these too.

A reminder post especially for new enquirers.
Grooming is done inside your home, indoors, where both your bunny/piggie and I are safe from the elements.
Proof of vaccination is required before booking new bunnies. There are no vaccines requirements for piggies. If the fur/hair is p**py or urine soaked there will be a surcharge depending of severity of soiling.
Let me know if you don’t want photos or want photos but not consent to them being used.
Payment is due at the end of the appointment unless pre-arranged with me beforehand.

Meet my friend Floof who needed a pawdicure stat. I quickly removed those talons and checked his paws for any injuries. Nails need trimming every 8-10weeks to help prevent excessive pressure on the back heels and nail bases of the paws, as well as deformities. Paws should be able to lay flat on the ground without uneven pressure. Rex bunnies should get regular filing of their nails, maybe weekly, to prevent the quic from stretching. Other types of bunnies can be trimmed and filed every 8-10weeks.
If you bunny has sore hocks that have open sores and/or bleeding, please see the vet.
