As the autumn storm passed over the farm and the sunset rays broke through the blue grey sky, we watched as a brand new, bright and full sized rainbow appeared…
I guess we all deal with grief and loss in our own way and expressions of our grief are deeply personal. We recently had a beautiful litter of 7 puppies. Three were born sleeping. Big, healthy babies but no life present. To say we were devastated was an understatement….
Today the rain brought the rainbow. Right over the grave site of our three puppies. I would like to think that my dog Millie who I lost in 2021 came to get her grandchildren and to help them cross the rainbow bridge. Since Millie’s passing I think of her every day. When ever there is a rainbow at our farm I smile and I say to myself “Millie has come to visit…”
It gives me some measure of comfort to think she is still around in some form and that the puppies have gone with her.
I know… it’s nutty and it’s far fetched but it helps…
When you lose a beloved dog initially it is so painful you wonder how you will every get through the days. It’s physical, and there is a permanent ache in your heart. Time passes… heart still aches. Till we meet again 😭♥️🐺🐾🙏 🌈
