Come say howdy at Paw & Order 🤠🐾

are hosting another stellar dog-friendly market, which is fundraising for .chance.animal.rescue 🥹 This is a very sweet full circle moment, as I volunteered with SCAR many moons ago.

We’ll be at BrewDog Pentridge on Sunday 24th May, 11am–4pm with Cuddlepillars, hound goodies, and special market prices.

⭐ Please make sure your dog feels comfy around all breeds before bringing them along. We can't wait to pawdy with y'all!

Maggie didn’t know what to do with toys when she first came home.

Her pawrent, Ben had bought her so many toys, in the hopes that one of them might spark a little curiosity, but she never really showed much interest.

Until her Cuddlepillar arrived.

Now it’s part play thing, part pillow, part comfort. Something to wrestle with, sleep beside, rest her head on, and attempt to drag around the house, even though it’s almost bigger than she is.

For some rescue dogs, play doesn’t happen straight away. Many are still learning what toys are, that play can be fun, and what it means to have something soft that belongs to them.

He may not be a greyhound, but his devotion to cuddlepillars is unquestionable. We don't make this stuff up, his mum told us.

P.S. Tony is 80% poodle, 12% Chinese Crested, but 100% prepared to take this personally (it's in his DNA).

Play hits different when it's something your dog chooses, when they can start, stop, change their mind, and keep going simply because it feels good.

That’s very different to what many racing greyhounds have known. With their lives built around performance. Their movement is controlled, their bodies are pushed for profit and play is not prioritised.

So, when our rescue greyhounds choose to pick up their toys and play, it’s so special. It’s important to remember that not all dogs will choose to play. Some are much happier snoozing, or spending time with their people. And we adore snoots who know what they want, and their guardians who meet them where they’re at.
