Absolute highlight of my week was getting an update on my old mate Homehill yesterday. Homehill (Jimmy - yes I know another Jimmy) was one of the first OTT’s I retrained back when my son was a newborn (he is now 11 🫣). Jimmy was a marvel a true point and steer job and within 18 months won EA Event Horse Of The Year and tackled 1*. Training racehorses got in the way so Jimmy has had a couple of homes in that time but has won Powerball in his new home with Liv and her dad Luke. Luke called me when searching for a new horse for Liv and at the time I told him the horses I have at the moment would be too green for her, however I do know of a horse that is currently for sale that is an absolute cracker as I retrained him and I’m a bit miffed why he’s been for sale for so long 🤔
24 hours later Luke sends me a picture of Liv with her new horse Jimmy!!! Liv and Jimmy have been partners since the start of the year and they have been absolutely killing it and winning so many things… and ticking off a lots of firsts for Liv, including tackling the 1.25 at the Ekka. Yesterday Liv and Jimmy came 5th in the hotly contested 1.10-1.15 at Caloundra and 1st OTT. What a bloody ripper he is and the ultimate OTT pinup boy 😍😍

I took Sparky to see Gary Lung today and I knew he would love him. First thing Gaz said was “OMG how pretty is he!” 🤭
We practiced an exercise for canter leads that is great for the OTT’s. When they are straight off the track they are always a bit sticky one canter way so this exercise is great for them to learn about canter leads and if they are as smart as Sparky they pick it up very quickly. Sparky got an A+ for ex*****on and effort today!!

Jimmy has also been done a bit back to front and got his class photos done last week too. He’s been a real star performer and a true allrounder for the “Class Of ‘26”

Jimmy raced as “Expectant” and he was a tough as nails competitor. He is by Jimmy Creed and had 80 race starts for 9 wins, 9 seconds and 14 thirds. He amassed over $300,000 in prizemoney and spent the majority of his career with John Thomas in Toowoomba. He was John’s favourite horse and it’s easy to see why. Jimmy is such a lovely little bloke that is happy to give anything a go.

Sparky has been a busy boy but we managed to get his class photos done last week.

Introducing by far the prettiest horse in the “Class Of ‘26”…… Can’t Getwhatiwant, a 6yo gelding by Super One and trained by Kemp Racing Stables

“Sparky” was born and bred by Lyndhurst Stud Farm and Jeff called me to see if I could take him and he believed he would make a great show horse. Jeff knows what he’s talking about and he’s not wrong. “Sparky” is a Royal quality horse….. however I believe his talents lie elsewhere. He is actually a jumping freakazoid!!! From the very first jump Rebel Morrow and I just went “WOW”. He has a massive leap on him and is fearless. He will jump anything. He’s stunning, is a ⭐️ level jumper and has talent to burn in the dressage arena. Sparky you are the complete package my friend 😍😍

Another week… another dressage comp and another horse 😂
This time we headed to the Caboolture Dressage Group OTT Dressage Showcase. I took the newest kid on the block “Sparky” and he was an absolute gem. Only a few weeks off the track and I really did throw him in the deep end up but he behaved beautifully. He tied up to the truck all day and took in all the atmosphere with a great attitude. He even scored a couple of ribbons and some great comments from the judges. I love the photos from . I’m laughing so much simply because I couldn’t believe how well he behaved. Good boy Sparky 😍
Thanks to Chrissie Amber for organising such a great day for the OTT’s. Not too busy and plenty of space for them to all keep calm.

What a big couple of weeks my little mate Jimmy has had. Foxtel has “Shark Week”, well I’ve had “Jimmy Week”. He’s done absolutely everything in the past week. His great dressage weekend has followed with some equally great cross country training. He will just pop over anything now. Didn’t even hesitate at the ditch jump today.
Back to the dressage weekend and firstly a big thank you to Logan Village Riding Club and RASDEG (it won’t let me tag you Liv Pennisi) for putting on great comps. These fresh OTT’s wouldn’t progress so quickly if we didn’t have these type of events. Also to Rebecca Harwood and Liv and all the other members of these clubs that put in so many volunteer hours to get them up and running… thank you!!!
