Botswana 2027 has just been released 18-24 September Centaur Horsemanship will be heading back to the delta. Don’t believe us on what a once in a lifetime experience this is?

Here’s what some of the riders on the most recent trip had to say!

Ash “ An absolute trip of a lifetime - riding horseback through the Okavango Delta, witnessing incredible wildlife in their natural habitat and meeting some truly epic people along the way!! 🌍🐘”

Nikia “A truely unforgettable experience with memories I will cherish for this lifetime 🌍”

Hannah “An experience that’s guaranteed to expand your mind and level up your world view. There’s no better way to safari than with on the back of a reliable horse, in the company of epic, likeminded people. I never want to forget a second of it.”

Lynette “it was certainly everything I imagined it to be and so much more . Could not recommend it more highly .
Amazing memories to last a lifetime”

Jeanette “ it was an incredible experience. Lots of amazing wildlife which we were able to get v close to thanks to our experienced & knowledgeable guides. Horses were quiet, safe & knew the drill.
The whole week was extremely well organised with excellent food & accommodation. Staff were v friendly & helpful- we were waited on like VIPs.
I totally recommend this to anyone who loves riding, animals & a new adventure”

Centaur Horsemanship Botswana 2026 is underway and this is all from our first 48 hours in camp. Seeing 10 riders cantering through the Okavango delta with the Centaur name has been a 5 year pipe dream. This trip has been the culmination of a pipe dream I had to take myself and see what I didn’t think was possible. African game between the ears of a horse is the most special experience.

Sharing it with a team of like minded people and giving them the same feeling is so special.

We are currently in the planning phase of 2027 so get in touch if you’d like some details!

Do you all remember Tomas Gajdos first horse!? Well here she is a few months later after she’s completed his first unassisted c**t start also 👏🏼

Priscilla (queen of the desert) 😂 has finished her start with Tom and is now looking for her new home. I couldn’t be prouder of the time and effort he’s put into this young sensitive filly to make sure no stone was left unturned.

What an awesome little horse she’s turned into - well done Tom 🙏🏻

“The Vertical”

A controversial topic within the horse community. Now I am going to start this post by stating I am by no means a biomechanic expert. What I am doing is observing the head placement my horses put themselves into when there are no restraints, bits, tie downs, nose bands. Working totally at liberty.

My aim when training horses is always for the horse to have the utmost pride within their own work. Usually how this presents is poll at the highest point, nose out a shortened back and a natural level of “collection”

BUT throughout a horses training which is never ending their will be points where the horses head may dip as they lose balance their poll may become lower and their back may hollow out. Is it what we are aiming to achieve as a final product? Absolutely not! Is that the reality of horse training? Absolutely!

My job is to teach my horse to use their body as correctly as possible. It doesn’t mean from the time they’re a fresh 3yo they’re ready to work in a perfect frame 24/7

Yes the highest levels of collection require perfect balance within the body of the horse. But I’m here to break the stigma that the second your horse dips their head lower and uses it as a counter leaver like it’s designed for it’s instantly “rollkur” I am by no means a LDR trainer but progress is what we all strive for over perfection.

I see so many riders focused so much even at the lower levels on what has been made the be all and end all of horse riding being “head position”
But the head position is simply an indicator of the rest of the body being in balance and alignment.

The next time you ride focus on the scales of training rather than solely focusing on head position.
