With a team of dedicated volunteers and foster carers, We help to rescue, rehabilitate and find fur-ever homes for abandoned, neglected or unwanted animals. Animal Rights and Rescue is a non-kill group that rescues and re-homes cats and dogs.

Marley is an active, loving boy who thrives on play and adventure. Fetch is his absolute favourite game, and he’ll happily run, chase, and bounce around with all the enthusiasm in the world. He can be a bit barky when he’s excited, but he settles beautifully and loves nothing more than curling up for a cuddle once the fun is done.

He would suit an active person or couple without young children, and he gets along well with friendly female dogs or possibly an older, calm companion. With the right home, Marley will blossom into a loyal, affectionate, joy‑filled family member.

🛠️ ARRG Working Bee – Volunteers Needed!
Our next Working Bee is coming up and we’re looking for a few helping hands to keep the centre looking its best.

📅 Sunday November 8th
⏰ 9am – 12pm
📍 ARRG Centre, 135 Three Chain Rd, Lismore

These monthly Working Bees help us tackle gardening, painting, small repairs, and general tidy‑ups around the facility. If you enjoy practical jobs and want to support the rescue in a hands‑on way, we’d love to have you join us.

What you need to know:
🔹Volunteers must be 18+
🔹You’ll need to sign a volunteer agreement on arrival
🔹Please bring water, a hat, and gardening gloves
🔹This is a maintenance day only — there will be NO animal contact or handling

You’ll work in small teams on jobs like gardening, painting, and simple handyman tasks.

Every hour donated helps us keep the centre safe, functional, and welcoming for the animals in our care.

Happy Adoption Day to Flopsy and Cottontail! 🥳🐰

We're so proud of how far these two have come. Initially they came to us in very poor condition after being found dumped out near Uki.

They have since blossomed both physically and behavioural wise. From not wanting to go near people to happy to take pats and lounge around on a lap or two.

We'll miss having their sweet faces around though we're ecstatic to see them finally land themselves a forever home and together. 🥰

🐔💕 CHICKENS LOOKING FOR LOVING HOMES 💕🐔

UPDATE: OUR INITIAL 60 HAVE FOUND HOMES 🐥
We are now taking expressions of interest for the next scheduled collection in roughly 6 week time (NOV 2026).

We’ve rescued over 60 beautiful hens from a local egg farm, and they’re now looking for something they’ve never had before - a loving family home where they can simply be chickens free from the commercial life. 🥹

Typically on commercial egg farms, hens are often culled at around 2 years old as they are no longer commercially viable, though they are still laying eggs, just not as many, and can have many more years ahead of them. Thankfully, these gals have experienced sun, space and a few extra pleasantries as they were free-range hens who could stretch their legs and wings.

🌱 They’re looking for loving, safe homes where they can enjoy sunshine, fresh air, dust baths, scratching, foraging and all the little things that make chickens happy.

💰 Adoption fee: $5 per chicken

🏡 Loving homes only. We want to make sure these girls are going somewhere they’ll be cared for as individuals and given the chance to live out their lives with kindness and compassion.

- proof of homeownership or a letter of approval from your landlord
- photos of the yard and coop that will be their new home
- your availability during our operating hours and a best contact number so we can get back to you!

*Please note we do have a minimum adoption of 2-3 chickens as they are happiest in a flock.
some of the chickens also have varying feather conditions as feather loss can occur due to them being such heavy layers. A flock that lays really well is often sparser in feathers, whereas a flock laying little will have more hens fully feathered. Their feathers will grow back in as they settle.
